The melting pot really out did themselves ! The service was exceptional from start to finish. The waiters had so much personality and were trained impeccably ! I LOVED the speciality cocktails with the garnishes and the glassware. The summer sipper with fresh muddled watermelon and cucumber was nice ! Also I enjoyed the wine pours with the carafes to match. The owner was very personable and talked to us from start to finish ! The plating is very beautiful . I love the garnishes This is great for an anniversary, date or special occasion. I love hands on and interactive dining experiences ! Especially table side. The cheese fondue to start and the dessert to finish was my favorite . Can you say white chocolate creme brûlée ? Divine !

We've been going to the Melting Pot every year for the last six years over the holidays to celebrate a birthday and our engagement/marriage and this was by far the worst experience we've had. The smell as we entered the restaurant was horrible. A mix of cleaning fluids and funk, like an attempt to cover something only to leave a sour overpowering aroma but it was New Years Eve and the chances of walking in anywhere else and being seated we knew would be impossible so we hoped once the food started heating up it would mask the unpleasant odor.(never happened) Then we were seated at a table with a partition down the middle and our backs to the restaurant and staff. The hostess told us it should have been explained when we made our reservations that this was how it was done on New Years..... it definately wasn't or we would have chosen a different day(we came last year and didn't have to share a table with strangers)! The selections on the menu weren't appealing but we were here and we've always had great food. The hair in our bread bowl was completely ignored by the server when we pointed it out but at least we saw it before it ended up in either of our mouths. If my husband didn't have a shaved head and I didn't have long blond hair I could have assumed it was ours but it was only an inch or so long and black. Also, had we not overheard another server explaining that the dessert fondue could be switched to a basic dark chocolate we would have chosen the heath bar over the other two white chocolate options but only because it was the only option that wasn't white chocolate not because it sounded tasty. All in all it was a let down. Last year was amazing at the Jacksonville location and all of our times in Springboro Ohio were wonderful, not sure what's changed but I don't think we'll go back next year unless we're back home visiting. Had this been our first visit I would have given 3 stars but since I had such high expectations I wouldn't have even given it one star but it was the only choice available.

Just went to Melting Pot yesterday. I had a wonderful time. The service was great, the drinks were well-mixed, and the food was delicious. I really liked the concept of cooking your own food. Although the portions were really small, I ended up leaving full. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant.

The Melting Pot is a great chain restaurant, this location is terrible. To start the 2 bartenders (at the empty bar) said they would be right with us, as they walked away, 10 minutes later the owner said hello and walked away. Finally, after about 15 minutes a bartender came back and got us our drinks. Then we were seated. The table was very small for the six of us; it was extremely hard to eat, we were bumping elbows and sweating from the heat. When the manager came over to check on us, I informed him of our discomfort. He went straight to being aggressive, he compared the seating at his establishment to seating in coach on an airplane. Then he told me it was my fault for not looking for a choosing a larger table and it was my fault I was uncomfortable. I was not blaming him, I was trying to inform him; excepted an "I'm sorry" and that's all, he choose to fight. The table though made for 6 people didn't have enough room for all our food and drinks. The waiters disappeared for 45 in the middle of the meal. In conclusion, try The Melting Pot it is good food and good fun, just try another location; the staff and the managers are rude, incompetent, and fake.

The food was good and it was fun. I can't rate this any higher because their prices are much too high. I enjoyed myself, but wouldn't go back given, what I feel are, the outrageous prices.

The owner is a pretentious jerk. I went here last year and took my wife for our anniversary. We had a server that made it an extraordinary experience. My wife loved it and I got a bunch of points for that one. I called ahead last year and made a reservation. I asked specifically for the "lover's lane" area. You got to sit in a private area and enjoy your incredibly expensive meal. We knew we were spending a ridiculous amount of money on a relatively simple meal, but we didn't care and enjoyed ourselves. I liked her reaction so much that I just wanted to make it an annual thing so I called back to reserve the same table. If the guy would have just made an exception and allowed me to reserve the "lover's lane" section he would have gained a customer for life. He chose to refuse me this exception for my anniversary and he will not be getting my business in the future.

This was my first experience at the Melting Pot and it will be my last. It was not enough food for the price. I paid the same amount here as I would have at Ruth Chris, but with less food. The service was very nice John and Lewis were great. I was appalled at the boiling of the meats and veggies. I don't think I ever heard of boiling filet mignon. The amount of food for the price is unreal. And then to be charge twice for one plate of cut of fruits and small chunks of brownie and red velvet cake is unheard of for dessert for two. Needless to say, I will not go back to the Melting Pot or tell any of my friends about it.
