+Jon Marr one of my players noticed a bug in the Create Upper Level pdf generator, but I don't know if I can reproduced it easily. We rolled up 10 characters using the create upper pdf, randomize all but level, and one of them was a Halfling. The bug was that the Halfling had 13 Luck, but the ability modifier was 0. I just tried 25 and got a Wizard with 13 Luck, who correctly shows the +1, so it's not any Luck score of 13....

Anyway, thought I'd point it out so you could keep an eye out for it.

I won't say that +Jon Marr's tools for DCC are what make it playable, but they are what make it no harder to run than something like Basic D&D that doesn't have all the fun charts for spell effects, crits, demons and dragons and the like.
I've planned for a while to whip out some quick videos going over the tools available on the Purple Sorcerer Site, since I think it's unwise to assume everyone knows about everything that's available! The first covers the venerable Zero Level Party Generator. :)

Oh no! Legacies Game Day is cancelled!

I was so looking forward to running some more folks through +Marzio Muscedere's Death Slaves of Eternity, and he'd even donated a copy as a prize.

Backed it, because not only are Fafhrd & the Mouser pretty much what I think fantasy RPGs are about, but I've been experimenting with some of the rules they've released for this as part of last year's Free RPG day and found they've made a nice addition to DCC, particularly in a Cleric-less Sword & Sorcery game. So, yeah, I'd like to see more.

Quick, what spell requires a melee to-hit roll in addition to the casting roll, and a point of spell-burn, and allows the target a saving throw, all to have a single round to attempt to do an extra 1d6 damage (at least on a minimal success)?  Yes, it’s…

The Bumblers defeated the Elephant-headed demi-God Honatep in The Treasure Vaults of Zadabad tonight, thanks to a crit on +Doug Bellew's cleric's Paralyze spell. (Doug wasn't able to make it tonight, so his character was being played by +Mike DeSanto, which accounts for the uncharacteristically successful roll.) They then surprised me further by resolutely refusing to monkey with the gate. Who are these non-rambling non-Bumblers?

I backed this. How could I not?
Greetings!

I am pleased to announce that the Umerican Survival Guide Kickstarter is now live and ready to accept your pledge! What is the Umerican Survival Guide? Umerica is a super science & sorcery post apocalyptic setting for the Dungeon Crawl Classics role playing game from Goodman Games set in a weird, twisted version of North and Central America. It originated in the Crawling Under a Broken Moon fanzine but the Umerican Survival Guide is a fully revised and fleshed out version of the setting.

Please go to https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/276689953/the-umerican-survival-guide to read more about the project and see all of our amazing pledge options.

Thank you for all of your support,

Apropos of Rob's question about how to pronounce lich, I've finally found a good example online of how to pronounce geas:

Just realized I may have been pronouncing "Lich" incorrectly.

I just heard someone pronounce it as "leech" and I scoffed, but then I realized I've been pronouncing it as "litch," which might not be correct either.

How does it do?

This one isn’t even a House Rule as much as an observation that any attack that would have hit but for the AC bonus armor grants presumably smacked the target but failed to penetrate the armor.  I like to emphasize this when describing the result of the…

Mighty Deeds are one of my favorite bits in DCC, but I sometimes feel that if you have this elegant way of resolving everything that might be a maneuver in a clunkier system (push back, knock down, disarm, blind, feint, etc.) it would be nice if you could…
