A challenge in my intellectual world with digital options is recognizing that I no longer need so many books at my disposal.
Like a lot of avid readers, I enjoyed Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up but bristled when it came to the section about books. The gist of her now-famous method is this: go through…

The Evangelicals' 'general (staunch at times) lack of hospitality and care and concern for “the other”— whether theological, gender, class or ethnic' relegates them to something else other than "Christian" --a social-politico-religio cult of sorts. We used to call this fundamentalism. Past leaders include Osama bin Laden, Tomas Torquemada, Jerry Falwell
Meir Kahane, Ted Unabomber.
When Professor Larycia Hawkins of Wheaton College publicly announced her solidarity with Muslims by wearing a hijab through the holiday season—and stated that Christians and Muslims worship the “same God”—the school put her on “paid administrative leave.” And now comes the news th

The best commentary on the debate--read the tweets
The Vermont senator again was commenting live on Twitter about the GOP debate. He got tens of thousands of retweets — until he decided about half an hour before the end of the debate to just go home.

Sanders has built his political career on decrying a rigged economy. NPR found audio dating back to 1976 that is nearly indistinguishable from 2015 when it comes to this message.

Introduction
Reared in Hamilton OH in a family of eight; served as altar boy in a local Catholic Parrish; excelled as a Boy Scout, an aviation enthusiast, and golfer; joined U.S. AF (77) and ventured out in a lonely world. In '80 I encountered the "radical" story of Jesus which ignited a widespread human transformation and an emerging cognizance of the Way. I sensed a vocation and studied at Trinity College. Married in 87, taught MS English, began pastoral work in Richmond, VA. In 93, I encountered ministry with a meta-church structure until 97, took a sabbatical and followed a path of enrichment taking on classic spiritual disciplines thus broadening my theological horizons while applying doubt to my advantage. Moved to Harrisonburg, VA in 98, consulted in two industries; entered seminary in 03 to work out some significant formational projects at Eastern Mennonite Seminary; earned an MDIV (emphasis on pastoral counseling and textual exegesis) while seeking to inch my way into a missional purpose and responding to an ongoing emerging church conversation with a growing cognizance of the Way non-violently via peace-making in a chaotic, fragmented and violent world filled with harsh realities and challenges. Today I apply life learning and experiences to my vocational niche that continues to narrow and hone me thin.

Skills
In my current vocational/avocational niche, I rely overall on group/team/collaborative dynamics (to include theories, models, literature) to discern and construct case decision-making with regards to child/youth/families while working independently on administrative, research, contemplative and writing tasks/needs. I utilize intuitively a hermeneutical model for listening, assessing and understanding human action in a child welfare context and private counseling practice with identified strengths in the area of grief counseling, integration of family systems theory, and peacemaking strategies. My goal is to assist/guide/help/monitor individuals/youth/families in dialogue, planning, working at change, waiting for healing while in partnership with a community and a deepening awareness of reality (mystery, paradox, etc.). I am comfortable working with challenging individuals, families and youth with trauma and have identified strengths in the area of grief counseling, integration of family systems theory, and peacemaking strategies. I write for the pure joy of it while trying to work at the inner life exposed to the outer world, for which at time meaning compelling the senses to dispel the deep darkness that prevails all around us through poetry.
