"I'm dreaming of a society where there is a sense of wonder about the beauty on this planet... My invitation to you until then is to have the courage to go on a journey to find the place... where your deep gladness meets the hunger of the world." - Martin Cadée

What a treat to hear this inspiring story of +Martin Cadée's courageous response to the moment he realized: "I felt like I was playing a role in a theater play that I didn't believe in... "

"There will be no one like us when we are gone, but then there is no one like anyone else, ever. When people die, they cannot be replaced. They leave holes that cannot be filled, for it is the fate — the genetic and neural fate — of every human being to be a unique individual, to find his own path, to live his own life, to die his own death." - Oliver Sachs

Beautiful and inspiring reflection by physician and author, Oliver Sachs. This made me smile: "While I have enjoyed loving relationships and friendships and have no real enmities, I cannot say (nor would anyone who knows me say) that I am a man of mild dispositions. On the contrary, I am a man of vehement disposition, with violent enthusiasms, and extreme immoderation in all my passions."

"Loving an addict is really hard. When I looked at the addicts I love, it was always tempting to follow the tough love advice ... But in fact, I learned, that will only deepen their addiction - and you may lose them all together. I came home determined to tie the addicts in my life closer to me than ever - to let them know I love them unconditionally, whether they stop, or whether they can't."
- Johann Hari author of Chasing the Scream

May 2015 be a year in which we express the poetry within, smile at the Flowers we see each day, create delight-filled surprises, stand with those whose voices need to be heard in order for our Light to fully shine, greet fear with courage, talk to strangers (yes, put down the phone & show up in life), touch Our vulnerability with tenderness so that we can meet others in theirs, wonder at the magic of Unexpected moments, nurture the authentic in our relatedness, celebrate our mentors and teachers, Revel in the cosmic dance, play with children, explore accidental Intimacies, Share grace in moments that challenge us, trust in the gifts of each sunrise, inspire Humanness, hone our ability to mind the gap between stimulus & action so that most of all, we choose love- always, choose love. #lovewins

For those future builders, a lovey reminder:

"Great writers of speculative literature, such as Bradbury, Kurt Vonnegut, Ursula K. Le Guin, and Isaac Asimov, observe the past as much as the present when they contemplate the future, and ask us to consider not just who we are, but whom we have the potential to be. Their work asks us to pay attention to ourselves and the world around us as a means of avoiding dystopia, a place where we have lost so much of what defines the best of humanity."

Programs can help with "applications and all the bureaucratic details. But how can we help our students prepare for the tug of war in their souls?"

"Sometimes we just need to be with others when there are no answers. Someone who has lost a loved one, or losing their own health. A team suffering ten years of dedicated work wiped away by a distant, corporate decision. Sympathy or get well soon cards really don't help. Being a transformational presence is the highest form of our art. There is nothing to be done, so we show up as a wise and thoughtful witness... Not only can't we predict when these states will occur, we have no business thinking about them. We just sit in the exquisite moments when someone confronts their core.”
