Life is a collection of adventures ❤

One year ago I embarked on an 8 day excursion with my dad to take on the rapids of the Grand Canyon. We met some truly amazing people, endured 120 degree heat, jumped off water falls and cliffs, swam through rapids, cooked our food and did everything together, as a team. There were no cell phones, no outside contact. Just us. In the canyon. Present in every moment.

I sit here, completely unashamed to admit that I was holding back the tears as a rock formed in the middle of my throat while reading this. It hit home in all aspects.

This story is real. It is raw. And it is one that so many parents, spouses, brothers, sisters, daughters, sons and loved ones can relate to.

Stories like this are put into the world to be shared with the world. It takes bravery to step up and speak what Katie Donovan has about a topic that is so misunderstood and pushed under the rug. ♥️ Not all stories end with such miracles, however every life saved gives me that much more hope for those still sick and suffering.

What is a Health and Life Coach? What exactly do I do?

As a health and life coach, I am a supportive mentor who helps my clients make healthy lifestyle choices. Whether they wish to lose weight, increase energy, decrease stress and clutter within their lives, or learn to make healthy dietary choices that work for their body, I am here to motivate individuals to make small and tangible, yet lasting changes to feel their best.

Relationships, exercise, career, and spirituality. These are just as important to your health as what you eat! I look at all aspects of a person's life and address a wide variety of wellness factors. I serve as a wellness mentor who strives to help people find the food, relationships, fitness routines and lifestyles that make them feel their very best!

According to the CDC, an estimated 610,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year - THAT'S 1 IN EVERY 4 DEATHS! An estimated 110,000,000 people die every year as a direct result of stress. THINK ABOUT IT!! That is 7 people every 2 seconds.

My mission is to help my clients transcend their limitations so they can tap into their TRUE potential to create a balanced life of health, well-being, purpose and fulfillment. My ultimate goal is that once a client feels confident to move forward from the work they are doing with me, that they have instilled the proper tools to allow them to continue to be successful at maintaining a healthy balance within their lifestyle and the forever changing world around them.

When you start to evolve, you lose your vocabulary with others.

On my continuous journey of self-discovery and personal growth, I've had moments where I've struggled to maintain friendships and relationships. I've struggled to keep that connection and line of communication open. I've allowed myself to become frustrated with the actions and decisions of others and I've put forth an unsuccessful effort to help guide and change their lives for the better.

Sometimes all we need is a long talk on a Wednesday morning while sipping super strong coffee in order to have a much needed moment of clarity. There is something that happens when you put forth a continuous effort to evolve - you outgrow people, places and things. News flash: THAT IS OKAY! We all have our own, unique journey and throughout the course of life, our journey will differentiate from that of others. Be thoughtful and tactful with what and how you give. Our energy flows in many directions, but since this is OUR journey, WE get to choose where that energy flows.

In the end, spread love and acceptance, but don't drown yourself because you allow others to sink your ship. As we evolve, we outgrow. Keep moving forward with a strong heart and steady mind.

We shouldn't ever assume we know someone's journey or the circumstances that led them to where they are currently at. Have a soul, lend a helping hand and allow others to have the power of choice. After that, all you can do is pray that they have the strength and direction to choose the best choice out of what they are given for that situation. We are ALL connected in more ways that most realize ❤

I just took this "What's Your Pillar?" quiz. My top pillar was Purpose. What's your pillar?

The book "The Power of Meaning" by Emily Esfahani Smith is on my list of books to read in 2017. I'll keep you all updated!

Life is full of opportunities to be either a positive or negative influence on others. We have the CHOICE. And what we do or don't do has the power to lift someone to new heights, or keep them frozen where they are. The thing is though, we never know exactly when our actions will affect others in ways we might never realize.

The way we do anything, is the way we do everything. A simple smile, kind word or gesture goes a long way. But all of the little moments in-between - those everyday moments we blindly walk though - those are also potential moments of influence. Our actions and words create feelings, and our feelings are a sensitive part of who we are.

Think about the big picture. Consciously practice patience, kindliness and love. Conducting ourselves in ways that uplift us, and others. It's not just about "feeling the holiday spirit". Take that attitude and make it an everyday lifestyle - a part of WHO WE ARE. Not only will it leave a print on others, it will make us happier and healthier. We are all connected.

Being a better YOU creates a ripple effect to becoming a better US.

A fear of failure is understandably common - you delay to take action because you worry that it may not work out. So instead of going for what you want and asking your boss for that overdue raise, committing to becoming a healthier you, or applying for that job posting that caught your eye, you choose to stay as you are and not step out of your comfort zone. You justify your lack of action by telling yourself that now is not the right time, and when that right time comes, you'll then take the plunge.

There is no such thing as failure.

If you never take that plunge, how will you ever progress towards what you want? Waiting for that 'right' moment may leave you frozen where you currently are. When you walk, every time your foot moves forward, you physically move forward. Never taking a step, leaves you exactly where you are now.

Making mistakes and learning from them is part of how we grow. Take risks! Go for what you want, despite how far out of your comfort zone it may be. If it does not work out, reevaluate, readjust and try again. This is YOUR life. How do YOU want to live it?

Without taking changes and making mistakes, we cannot learn and grow!
