Thank you Oakland!!! I spent the summer in the bay area rooting for the A's as well as my beloved Cubbies and it looks like it paid off!! Now lets get that playoff at home. Go cubs go!

Cubs clinch first playoff berth since 2008 thanks to Giants’ loss
It took some help from the Oakland Athletics late Friday night, but the Chicago Cubs received their first National League playoff berth since 2008.

I say the owner of that accura dealership is pretty salty.
A wall collapsed at the Morton Salt building in Goose Island Tuesday afternoon, spilling salt over cars at an Acura dealership but causing no injuries, officials said.

This explains a lot.

Why Americans don't hear more about what happens in the rest of the world:
Alisa Miller, head of Public Radio International, talks about why — though we want to know more about the world than ever — the US media is actually showing less. Eye-opening stats and graphs.

+Nathan Anderson So I know that most training plans lead up to a run   (in your case 28 miles) which is obviously quite a bit shorter than 40.   The same for most marathon plans.  Personally, as a running luddite, and if I have the time, I always try to get a real distance run in before.  Then I know that 100% I can make the distance on the day, unless I behave like an idiot.  But I recognise my advice seems contrary to accepted wisdom!  I think it mostly depends on your /recovery rate/ and time available.  But I'm still sure you will make it & for a first ultra you just need to go slowly so you finish in comfort.  Then on the second ultra you can go for a time!  Oh and last tip.  Sort out your music for the day, I'm assuming you'll carry an player, and for me I have a waterproofing strategy (for the player) if it's torrential rain on the day.

I use the free version of runtastic +Andrew Harkness. It is quite accurate, used it during the Dublin marathon and it came in at 26.28 miles or something.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
Introduction
Belief is a wise wager. Granted that faith cannot be proved, what harm will come to you if you gamble on its truth and it proves false? If you gain, you gain all; if you lose, you lose nothing. Wager, then, without hesitation, that He exists.
