The Web Comic Secret Santa Exchange is a yearly event started in 2002 by Liz Walsh of The Tao of Geek. Every year a whole bunch of webcomic creators get together and volunteer to create a guest comic or piece of art for a randomly assigned comic.

http://comicsecretsanta.blogspot.co.uk/

Anybody with an actively updated comic with 20 pages or more in the archive can sign up with this year's registration closing at the end of the day on Thursday the 4th of December and assignments handed out on the following Monday. If you don't have a currently active comic that qualifies you can still help out by becoming a Safety Net Elf, an emergency reserve artist who steps in if someone can't get their gift finished for reasons of health, family emergency, poorly timed self destructing computer or any other reason.

Contributors can pick whatever kind of age rating they're happy being assigned and last year saw the Exchange pick up 31 participants with only one having to pull out due to reasons beyond their control, but one of the elves stepped in to save the day and everybody got their gift in time for Christmas.

Comic Review: The Demon Archives by Daniel Sharp and Nick Sharp with Sebastian Piriz

http://www.webcastbeacon.com/comic-review-demon-archives-daniel-sharp-nick-sharp-sebastian-piriz/

With this next review, I actually had the pleasure to interview the creators on a prior episode of The Webcomic Beacon.

However, I have since been asked to give their webcomic an official review. Will this be awkward?

Comic Review: Parallel Man by Jeffrey Morris & Fredrick Haugen with artist Christopher Jones

http://www.webcastbeacon.com/comic-review-parallel-man-jeffrey-morris-fredrick-haugen/

Have you ever seen that one Jet Li movie? This comic reminds me much of the movie, The One, with Jet Li. Say what you want about that movie. It had a really cool idea, and it was just a lot of fun!

Now, I’m not saying that Parallel Man is exactly like The One, but there are some fun similarities. Before I get into the story, however, let’s look at this submission from the beginning.

I’ve reviewed the other comic books of the Black Snow series before; including the I’m Famous spin-off comic book of the Lone Wolf character. … Or was Black Snow the spin-off?

In any case, the creators of Black Snow have sent me the latest comic book of the Black Snow franchise: Black Snow: Two Drink Minimum.

On this spooky episode, we’re joined by our friend Kevin, and play a plethora of voicemails including Halloween-themed riddles from Ian, an apology and explanation from Jerry’s assailant, and a vulgar long-time friend of the show who we haven’t heard from in awhile.
