+Vic Gundotra  I'm sure you must be tagged in so many things every day you'll never see this... But I just wanted to thank you. 1 year ago, 365 days to a tee, Google I/O 2013 truly inspired me. I was inspired, energized to create. And you, personally - you - inspired me with those opening lines of your speech that day. And now it's my turn to say - Thank you SO much. I'm saddened that you're no longer with Google - but I wanted to thank you for everything you contributed. It was under your leadership that products were created that have deeply impacted my life. Google+ Photos has changed the way I relate with photography, and Hangouts allows me to connect with my family in ways that just weren't possible previously.
Back to I/O --- As a student with interests that lie outside the scope of what my school identifies as its "key strengths", getting the opportunity and permission to miss half a week of school to go to Google I/O was incredible. I truly have to say - I learned more in those 3 days than months of school. I attended seminars about everything from web technologies to the future of mobile devices - things that just can’t be taught in a class... It was amazing. And so much of that was because of you. Thank you, Vic!!

What BS - http://valleywag.gawker.com/yeah-a-fellow-tech-reporter-was-encouraging-me-to-star-1524506142/+mattnovak

I give Google a little bit of information about my life, and they give me services that would cost me 100's of dollars per year, with single sign-on and Drive, as well as Gmail, and an ultra-cheap music subscription service.

In return, I get internet advertisements that don't suck.

And Google gets money.

I fail to see how this is a bad thing. I like getting recommendations on YouTube, and elsewhere online. I like the services Google offers.

Troll elsewhere, Gawker and NYTimes. I'm so tired of the Times painting everyone as evil, when the only evil one is them - printing sensationalist journalism desensitizes the public to when there's an actual problem.
As a social network, Google+ is just a bunch of empty circles spinning in a barren wasteland. But Google could give a fuck if consumers prefer Facebook. What the $400 billion data vacuum really wanted, reports The New York Times, is to track everything you do online and sell that personal information to advertisers.

I don't even need to read this article it's just dumb based on the title. I mean yeah they are using our info to target us with ads but Google+ was to unify all their platforms not just to track us.

It's not often that a ‪#throwbackthursday post throws-back exactly a year...

Down to the very hour. But this one does. 365 days ago, pretty much at this exact moment, Google I/O, Google's annual developer's conference, had begun. It was truly the best 3 days of my life. As a student with interests that lie outside the scope of what the Masters School identifies as its key strengths, getting the opportunity and permission to miss half a week of school to go to Google I/O, was incredible. I truly have to say - I learned more in 3 days than months of school. I attended seminars about everything from web technologies to the future of mobile devices - things that just can’t be taught in a class. I witnessed a speech by Google's Co Founder Larry Page - which is really, really rare as he has partial vocal cord paralysis. The wisdom, the lessons, the practical advice...

I also met some of the brightest people I'm sure I'll ever meet. From Google executives, to geniuses from all around the tech industry - from product managers, to visionaries, to coders that were pioneering their own startups.

I met some great friends at I/O - people I still talk to today, like +Caleb Allen +Caleb Allen and +Ian Tang  I was INSPIRED. I felt ALIVE. I was energized with the feeling that I could take on, and change the world.

Is it just me or did an update along the way (maybe the most recent one?) make the touchpad (including scrolling) less responsive? I feel like the mouse pointer has more "friction" to start moving if that makes any sense. But like once it gets going it goes faster than it had been... Making being precise... not difficult... but harder.... :/

Facebook News Feed is now getting a "cards" like design. Nice job "borrowing" Google+'s design language again, Facebook!

http://www.theverge.com/2014/3/6/5469952/facebook-goes-back-to-basics-with-latest-news-feed-redesign
Almost exactly one year ago, Facebook laid out its vision for the future of News Feed. Facebook spent months refining its new design, which touted huge photos, a dynamic navigation bar, and...

Plus the Zuck!!

Hi +Mark Zuckerberg,

I can see you now have 658,472 followers on here, which is awesome, but your profile seems a little on the quiet side.

To help you out, here are a few tips to get your started on Google+…

Engagement:
This seems to be very low right now, but that is ok, I’m sure as soon as you start posting people will be plussing like crazy.

Profile picture:
I noticed your photo is tagged with your name, which is excellent, but you may like to consider a slightly ‘clearer head shot’, as this is best for purposes of Google Authorship (see below).

Cover photo:
You still have the default image - this is a little bit boring, so why not check out some of the ones in the free library?

Verified name/profile:
It is great you have a verified Profile, and shield! How did you get that? Do you know someone at Google or something!?

Formatting:
Just so you know...
an _ each side of the word/phrase makes it italics
a * either side will make it bold
a - will make it a strikethrough
And you can use them all in combination.

This helps posts look even better.

Linking to your website?
I see in your ‘About Section’ that you ‘make things’. Do you blog? Well, if you link it to your Profile, you may even find your image appearing alongside your content in Google Search (an aspect of something called ‘Google Authorship’, which people seem to love.)

Brand Pages:
Also you may like to set up a Brand Page which you can usually link to a website (using a rel=publisher markup).

Other social networks:
Just to say, I know people are often already heavily invested in other social platforms, such as Twitter and LinkedIn, and the good news is that you can use Friendsplus.me to distribute your Google+ content straight to other social networks too. This is really handy.

YouTube:
I had a quick look and I couldn't find your channel.
You are really missing out as Google+ and YouTube work hand-in-hand.

And finally…
The people are awesome on Google+; it is a real community.
And know it is ok Mark, even though you may not know anyone to start with, you’ll make new friends in no time.

p.s. Great to see you’ve been on ‘Google’ since Buzz.
