Kubuntu 15.04 doesn't work anymore.
since ~3days now it freezes.
First the taskbar is freezing shortly afterwards the rest. Mouse is still free.
Any clues?

What model? I am seeing same with my daughter's lenovo s21e. Kubuntu freezes completely after 2-3 mins.Aug 27, 2015
KDE 15.04 has been a disaster for many people. Ensure to install the backports ppa or upgrade to 15.10. Either option has been much better than 15.04 stock.Aug 27, 2015- Issues I observed with 15.04 on an NVidia 760 with NVdia drivers and Intel CPU were:
- corrupted desktop on resume from sleep (easily fixed by toggling composting)
- Plasmashell crashing every 30s to 5 minutes. {During troubleshooting, I discovered many other people had the same problem. In the end, my issue was due to the desktop background pictures referencing a disk drive that was not present in the fstab file.}
- Several widgets do not (yet) work in plasma 5 including the CWP weather widget.
- Instant messaging was broken, but one of the early updates fixed it.
- I have not found a suitable GTK theme yet that works with plasma 5 (missing checkboxes, sliders, strange looking drop downs, etc)
- Plasmashell memory footprint still exceeds 200MB and hits 325MB on 15.10 with all the updates! (14.10 rarely exceeds 190MB).
- Overall KDE memory footprint is 200-300MB higher than other distros on the same hw.
- My high dpi laptop booted into a live 15.xx session still requires tweaking to enable a readable display. Other DE handle HDPI much better out of the box.
- Dolphin Samba sharing is marginal at best and requires way too much googling for new users to fix.
- I am forgetting several other nit picky items...
A friend with a similar desktop setup had even worse issues (black screen after fresh reformat and install, wine installation issues, etc).
But, even with all of the above issues, I still like KDE! I just don't want new user to try 15.04 thinking that is perfect and come away with a bad impression. All OS's are a work in progress and each cycle through some rough times.Aug 28, 2015

most of my kubu 15.04 issues were sorted by adding xorg edgers ppa, but had it in 14.10 and 15.04, that copying/moving, freezes on around 98% for a longer while, then it finishes. But i'm doing fresh install of 15.10 soon so, i'm okay with that for now.Oct 5, 2015
