It has been a bit of a busy week… so let’s start from the beginning.
Monday I had a productive day at work creating some posters but the journey home took ages and stressed me out quite a lot. On Tuesday I had arranged to go watch some speedway practice at Iwade for the first time in ages. I twisted my dads arm to give me a lift there (also getting him out the house and stop working for a little while would do him soon as well as me).
This was a day of “i’m not going to be ill” kind of mindset. There was no walking stick, no thinking about doctors, appointments and upcoming decisions about my health. This day was about hanging out with my friends with a common interest in speedway. It was at a track that I first rode a speedway bike and learned pretty much everything I knew about riding!
I got myself involved, chatted to friends and pushed a few bikes. A couple of people were concerned about my health (which was very touching) but I let them know I was in control of it. At the end of the day, with a big smile on my face, kind of bracing myself of how I may feel tomorrow. When tomorrow came I was in pretty good condition, I expected to be laying on the sofa in pain all day.
Wednesday was blood test day so I got an early bus, which was late AGAIN! They took quite a bit from me, there were lots of boxes ticked for what they wanted to test on. I then was to attempt what I find the hardest (without my walking stick as I needed both my hands) without a walking stick! It was the dreaded grocery shop. I meandered through the aisles with my trolley taking my time, pacing myself. Bought myself a little bit for lunch and treated myself to a sit down in the supermarket cafe. I would need the recovery time for the walk to the bus stop with my shopping. Luckily I left enough time to take it slow and not rush back to the bus stop.
The rest of the week has been filled with work, a clean up at work on Friday which was very difficult, got to see a work colleague’s house that they had moved into recently which was nice. We got talking about some good things and some hard things to. I came away dwelling a little on the past and regretting asking about someone I used to know.
Family BBQ at the weekend so I will get to see my painkillers i.e, niece and nephew! :)
Hope you all had a great weekend!
