Autumn leaves, pumpkin spice lattes, and a healthy dose of design controversy...

Brands have known for a long time that part of what they are selling is a sense of identity. How would you feel if your friends came over and spotted these clever packages of pasta on your counter rather than the same ol' same ol'? Probably like you were hip and clever and funny. This designer also clearly understood that more than 70% of pasta products are purchased by women, and that being powerfully attractive to one group might mean being less interesting to another, and that that is ok! Sometimes, a clear sense of who is your customer lets you be bold and daring and a little funky.

"What's a pingback?" I was asked again today... I wonder how many more people would ask if they weren't afraid of looking ignorant. Don't worry, I wrote a blog post so you don't have to ask anyone. ;)
Sprinkled in among the comments on your blog posts, you may occasionally see one that appears to just be a small quotation from your original article, and a link to another website. Instead of a comment, it is labeled as a “Pingback.” To most new blog owners, this is a very puzzling experience. Our clients often ask: “What …

The new category system in Simple Testimonials can be used to pick and choose reviews of specific services, types of work, whatever, and show only the testimonials that are relevant to that page.

There's a lot of myths and confusion about what a "pingback" is. Do you get them on your blog?

A marvelous article about "low hanging fruit." I run into this mindset frequently with people who have never worked with technology before and assume it will work "like magic." And while it can provide dramatic results, getting it set up right takes much more time, devotion and thought than many realize. Thus, they set themselves up to fail simply by setting their expectations incorrectly!
Be careful when you use the word “easy” to describe other people’s jobs.

On user interfaces and design by committee: "It’s like solving a rubix cube. Your suggestion gets one side all sorted out, which is great, but it messes with the other 5 sides, and I have to solve the whole thing." http://ow.ly/YeBkU
because compromised designs are not good designs
