A meeting between the Dalai Lama and singer Lady Gaga has angered the Chinese government and Chinese citizens. Several media reports this week say the Chinese government plans to ban Lady Gaga’s music. It would not be the first time. China banned Lady Gaga in 2011 for three years.

Over 10 years ago, researchers found bones from a small, human-like creature that they called a “hobbit.” The hobbit stood just a meter high, and lived about 50,000 years ago. Now researchers discovered bones from its ancestor that lived 700,000 years ago.

US-born author Bill Bryson has said that the British are “more greedy and selfish” than they used to be, and suggested people had voted with their hearts rather than their heads in the EU referendum. Since he wrote his breakthrough book about the UK, Notes From A Small Island, two decades ago, Mr Bryson said British living standards had increased.

Britain’s decision to leave the European Union prompted Prime Minister David Cameron to resign and markets to fall around the world. Final results gave “Leave” 52 percent, “Remain” 48 percent. The close vote showed how deeply divided the British people are on immigration and sovereignty.
