Wow! I really love this place. I came to LA to visit and this place was one of the many highlights of my vacation. It was so good that I came here twice! The first time we went We sat at the bar. The bartender was a little quiet but we were able to open him up. He recommended the chicken empanadas and boy oh boy was that a great suggestion. Those things were so good!! They were warm, flavorful, delectable and that mango salsa really set things off. I also had a free mojito thanks to my Yelp check in. The bartender made some really good drinks! Since we had such a good experience, we decided to come back and give them a chance for brunch. For $35 we had bottomless drinks and all we could eat tapas. I wish we had just come straight here for brunch because we were able to try soooo many things on the menu. I tried the chicken salad which was good, the meatballs are great, the mimosas were awesome, we pretty much tasted EVERYTHING and it was all good! I strongly recommend coming here for brunch. Keep in mind that after like 3pm it's no longer all you can eat. You can order things individually and it costs a lot more. Our waiter was on point, the atmosphere was real cool and laid back. There was a dj... You have to check it out for yourself! Come hungry and leave happy!

This place has an amazing all you can eat brunch. I believe it's around $35 per person for all you can eat tapas and their pre-made cocktails. I've been here a good number of times for birthday brunches with a large group. It's pretty easy to split the bill since it's the same amount for everyone. I've also been there for happy hours and the value is pretty good too. It's a great trendy and fun place that overlooks Santa Monica.

So if you don't know anything at all about Zengo, then the one important thing is that it's great for groups. Zengo has all you can eat & drink brunch on weekends, and all you can eat & drink dinner daily. They restrict it to a maximum of 2 hours, but really the staff is pretty accommodating for large groups, and come by often for more food and drink orders. I went for the $59 dinner option, and the best dishes are definitely the seafood options. Don't miss out on the amazing scallops, tender miso black cod, and ceviche. All the meat dishes were a bit overcooked so unless you really love meat, I'd skip the ribs and chimichurri steak. The cocktails aren't very strong, but they taste good, and there's always wine and beer if you'd like to feel more buzzed. Overall, I loved Zengo when I went for my birthday celebration, and I would definitely return.

Eh.. I came here for a work lunch. Service was fast as there weren't many people but the food is just okay. There is a nice view of the promenade on the outside balcony with enough shade for those who aren't looking to burn in the Santa Monica sun, ha. I got the two ceviche platter (shrimp and bay scallop) as well as the scallops big plate. I've had better and was kinda disappointed with how bland the scallops turned out to be. Oh well! It's a nice view - just wish the food was better. Can't complain for a meal on the company though!

Under standard services with above standard prices and tip rates. Those who've described this place as amazing are probably haven't paid the bill by themselves. "Suggested tip rates" printed for your "Convenience" at the end of your bill as 18%, 20%, 22%. Cold behavior if you pay a 10% tip is guaranteed. Tables are having deep scratches and hard to clean. Food quality is acceptable and one star is given for that.

Love the ambience and the food was excellent. We've lived in Santa Monica for 5 years and had never stepped into Zengo until last night. We had a great time. Service was really good, the restaurant was packed. The Thai empanadas were delicious. Will definitely return.

A Japanese-Latin fusion restaurant, tucked away in the Promenade shopping center. After some initial issues getting a table, we found the service to be prompt and friendly, and the menu loaded with good food. View was nice on the "patio" area, and cocktails were enjoyable. If you like sampling eclectic small plates, you'll probably like Zengo.
