First: the food. Very delicious, everyone in my party liked what we had. The dishes were somewhat expensive, however I feel that most big ticket items on their menu were righteously so. The pasta was overpriced. The happy hour was decent, but you have to go restaurant side to get a full menu. Atmosphere: excellent. Heat lamps outside will keep you warm in the evenings, and inside the bar and restaurant were clean and comfortable. Finally: service. Lackluster. Thankfully our waiter was one of the better ones, he seemed courteous and friendly, and was one of the few who smiled, though he was slow. Otherwise, I was frankly unimpressed by the staff considering how much I paid for the meal.

I absolutely love The Fisherman's restaurant! Anytime I'm in the San Clemente area it is a must to stop in and at least have some awesome fish tacos! They're fried calamari is still to date the best I have ever had! Their soups are delicious, especially in a the sourdough bread bowl! If you go thru San Clemente and don't stop here, there is something seriously wrong with you!

My server was great, the food was awesome, and ambience of the waves crashing while the sun was setting was gorgeous. Everything from the appetizer to the soup, to the main entree, to desert was great. I will definitely frequent here when I'm in town.

I experienced great service. Bartender Andy did a great job. It was busy but everything came out fast and beer order was taken care of right away. Beautiful sunset for me and my girl. Couldn't ask for more. Would have given it five stars but I did not have an entre just apps. Calamari and the oysters were great and very short wait for food. Seems like a lot of people rating this place expect things to be really fast at a place like this when you have the view that they have. I can see where it can get so busy so fast during the sunset service that it would be pretty frustrating to try to keep up with all the tables they have. But if you time it right your experience I am sure could be the same or better than mine was. Gave it 1 just so you would read this..ha ha. I always go the the 1 stars first also. So truly 4 stars out of five!

The atmosphere is amazing. To sit on the patio and watch the sunset on the ocean is breathtaking. The food is edible. The menu at the bar section is very limited. If you want a full menu you have to go to the restaurant side which is very expensive. Ate on the restaurant side and the food was really good. Waitress was very friendly and nice. The peanutbutter ice cream was wonderful. Full menu on this side of the restaurant.

We ate there recently and all was good until I looked up and realized the young lady serving the happy hour meal (with gloves on) was taking money from patrons and then using the same hands to place tortillas on the plate. I always watch very closely when people do this serving food anywhere and then I never return. Very very scary!
