More telepresence startups, based on ipad/iphones.

I actually know people at both of these:

Slightly revised thought for the day:

In theory, metrics are easy but optimization is hard. In practice, optimization is easy but metrics are hard.

Not that I recall, pretty sure it was the web interface.
Also noticed your thumbnail picture in other people's circles, but when clicked got a 404. Didn't get a screencap. I guess it's hard to disappear people without introducing bugs

Neat edgy site by +rachel binx , but this particular infographic fills me with NERD RAGE. By putting things towards the circumference, their areas are exaggerated as the SQUARE of the underlying values. BAD DESIGNER NO COOKIE!

(Should make it clear that bad design is by Pitch Interactive, not Binx!)

I think it's trying to make the (valid) point that the DOD gets less proportional media attention than its share of the budget. But in a very misleading way, and makes the assumption that they should be proportional.

Considering changing my username to "Free DocPop" in solidarity with (+)aestetix, (+)DocPop (+)Skud, +Mediapathic and other pals locked out of G+ by absurd and hypocritical Real Names policy.

I have other email accounts, and have backed up my Reader feeds, so I wouldn't be losing too much (see what you risk here: http://www.docpop.org/2011/08/googles-antisocial-behavior/)

How dumb is it to knowingly violate Google's TOS to prove a point?

(I should also note that I've been doing that for a while already with a pseudonym that Google hasn't yet picked up on, perhaps because nobody has flagged it.)

So his company is called "Reardon," huh? Ayn Rand reference = WARNING SIGN.
Also overhype. Can't rule out there's something to this: I imagine by coordinating spread spectrum modulation you can do something similar, but nobody gets around Shannon.

Interested in +Steve Omohundro 's opinion.

I thought diffraction might be the main limit as well, but I wonder if some of the cool stuff they do to go beyond the diffraction limit in chip masks might work here as well. Also seems like having more transmitters than receivers could help increase the density. Should be a general solution for optimal usage of physical space and frequency.

Oh man I love those green Phoenix-style screw down connectors. The local Radio Shack has decent versions of them.
Perhaps I will try to talk Elbing into making a road trip to the playa this year.
