Just got back from there. Had a perfect experience. I would recommend this place to everyone I know. To be honest, it was more than I hoped for. I'll be going back there for sure.

When we first showed up, they told us that they were out of champagne (that they were charging us for). That was OK, I guess, not a deal breaker... Then we find out they have no phones working (not the area in general...just The French Manor)...which made any problem or request a lot more difficult to communicate to the office. We then we find out our Jacuzzi doesn't work, and they sent up a 17 year old WAITRESS to look at at (who obviously did nothing). She informs us that she'll have to have "Bill" look at it. Of course she comes back 10 minutes later and says Bill isn't on the grounds. They tell us we can move to the room downstairs for the night, but then must be back in our old room before check-in the next morning, lol...I couldn't MAKE this crap up... Finally we go to watch TV and find out its a 19inch Sanyo tube TV that sits 20 feet from the bed. I have 20/20 vision and would need binoculars to see something that small from anywhere in that room. We decided to cut our weekend at this place short so I went to checkout...where they left me standing around for 30 minutes waiting. After hearing about all the problems, I will never forget the response: "Sometimes there are problems, and we're just sorry they had to happen to you." No joke, and not 1 red cent off my bill. They charged me well over 500 bucks for one night of their incompetence. I get the distinct impression they're financially struggling and are willing to bleed the extra revenue from anyone possible. The food was good. The setting was great.

What a disappointment! The grounds are lovely, but that is it. I didn't look to see when the restaurant got those 4 diamond awards on the wall, but it must have been many years ago. They attempt to be a gourmet restaurant, but the food was marginal, and barely warm. Not the level I would have expected. The bartender/piano player looked unkempt, as did the waiters. They must hang those tuxedo shirts and aprons on a hook at the end of the night and wear all month. PS…aprons to serve dinner? Very run down dining room, cobwebs at ceiling corners. Just awful.

Being massage therapist myself, I was disappointed with the quality of the treatment and professionalism of the stuff. It was below my expectations considering the French Manor environment. The dinner was superb as always. Your stuff makes as fell welcomed as always.

i needed to find an affordable spa getaway for my girlfriends and I. I found this place on a search engine and took a chance. it looked like a quiet retreat, which is what we were looking for.The girlsfriends package included lunch and breakfast and 1 spa treatment and pedicure. When we got there,it was time for lunch. The lunch was soup and salad-no bread or anything,so that was kind of limited. But it is at the spa and I'm sure they trying to keep up with the whole healthy vibe. But you could bring snacks and wine,so that worked out. Then we got our massages and pedi's. massages was fantastic! The pedi-not so much, this girl seemed like she didn't know what she was doing but she was so sweet and really trying hard so I didn't want to complain. The dinner, which you pay out of pocket, was incredible! It was pricey, but it is fine dining. Think filet mignon and lobster. Worth every penny. Bring DVD's for the room as well as more wine. and the next morning enjoy a great breakfast with a wide variety of choices on the menu-which is included in the girlfriends spa getaway package.Gratuities are also included so you don't have to worry about tipping everytime. No need to get dolled up here. It'sa very quiet and intimate environment. so serene and relaxing. So charming!I just got back and had to write a review. I'm definatley going to go back with my husband for a romantic weekend.
