Great outdoor seating and trendy vibe in West Village. Mexican Punch was amazing. I'd recommend this place for a great date night or catching up with friends.

Greatest gourmet mexican food thats in the area, and not too expensive. I was here for valentines day with my girlfriend and I accidently spilled my water all over her food, I was so embarrassed, but the waiter brang a fresh plate of food out no extra charge:]

I LOVE this place. I often do reviews of places that failed miserably. However, I must rave about this place. We love this place so much that it is our Sunday brunch spot (this is the only place we are regulars at!) We usually eat on the patio. It has such a great vibe and is fantastic for people watching. You see everything in this area, so if your easily offended by alternate lifestyles or some peoples clothing options, you may not want to go. But we just love it. The food is amazing!!! I personally love their green salsa. Sooo addicting. Also, I get the Tacos las Brisas and its sooo good (shrimp tacos). I get them every Sunday. My husband likes a variety but most often he gets their brisket tacos. In addition to food, their Mambo 32s are wonderful! I've never been much of a mimosa person. But I'm def a mambo 32 person. Its a frozen margarita swirled with OJ. What a great eye opener! =) Their white queso and guacamole are favs too. As for service, theirs is A+ most of the time. Of the past 5 months or so that we have been going, one time (I think it was mothers day?) we went they they were packed! So busy that it took us a minute to get a table and they squeezed us in... then forgot about us! We sat there forever (about 15 or 20 mins) w/o even getting silverware or a drink order. Once we realized that no one even realized we were there my husband gets up and orders a mambo 32 from the bar thinking a waiter would see him and come get the appetizer order from me. He comes back and they hadn't. We sat there for another 10 minutes w/o service and finally he approaches the manager and lets him know we would like to order. The manager then realizes how long we were waiting and that my husband had to get his own drink and from then on out we were completely taken care of. On top of that they refused to let us pay for anything! Wouldn't even bring us a check. We didn't realize that they were covering the check and we had been there for quite a while and had quite a few drinks, appetizers, meals etc. We wound up leaving a $40 tip. That is a prime example of how you handle those types of mistakes, and not to mention we still come back and we've never had it happen again. We have started to go earlier now because we do enjoy being outside on the patio, so its not as busy. I can't wait for it to cool off a bit again so we can go a little later and get more action from the people around, LOL. I must add that we often have a lot of people meet us there for brunch and we've had as many as 15 people there in which they promptly and gladly arranged seating and tables for us with out any problems. They haven't messed up on food or drink orders (other than the one time) and they are a cut above the rest by far. And my husband wouldn't see this complete until I've added that he (and everyone else thats tried them when with us) thinks their pancakes are the best ever! No matter what he orders, he always gets two pancakes to go along with it... =)

Not my favorite...they try to overcompensate on their food by being more flashy with their waitstaff and modern venue. Not worth the money, in my opinion.

Taco Diner is one of those places where I ask myself "why is it so crowded?" It's okay... nothing special. I think it's the patio scene in West Village where people go to be seen or people watch. If you're looking for good tacos or Mexican, I wouldn't recommend Taco Diner... it's just a solid national chain. Great environment though.
