My first post on the +SEOgadget blog actually has nothing to do with SEO. http://seogadget.com/fullcontact-api-excel/

Excel is powerful! And it can do evil in the wrong hands.  :-)
Here's a discussion of Tim Worstall's article where he describes the really good and really bad about how Excel is used.
This is a great discussion to have because one thing that's often missing from Excel conversations is layers of assurance that everything is right--and remain right. Otherwise, we're just building time bombs.

"Many of the problems I see in business today can be traced back, in part, to poor quality thinking about the telos of marketing, to a short-termism that promotes sales now over value over a customer’s lifetime and to an almost complete lack of marketing morality."

Here's one approach to scaling content gap analysis using +SEMrush - it's pretty quick and gives you a solid idea of the content you need to create in order to cover the same organic ground as your competitors

I've always loved working with startups. They are agile, resourceful, and forwarding thinking. Because many startup products are viral by nature - they earn a ton of press. However, they don't always get links with that press.

This strategy will find all unlinked brand mentions at scale.

Using the web design strategy of graceful degradation you can prospect for links at scale for giveaway widgets, here's how:

I really enjoy getting my hair cut here. Lana is a great stylist and she is extremely detail oriented. I have looked all over San Francisco for a reasonably priced hair salon - I am really happy I found Salana. I really do think it is the best hair salon in San Francisco. The head massage for the full men's haircut is also great.

I no longer live in the midwest, but when I did - I was a big fan of Hope Plumbing . Not just because they are the best plumbers in Indianapolis, they have a solid appreciation for Drake lyrics as well.

I had a wonderful time celebrating my brithday with my girlfriend at Zento. The food was excellent and the sushi tasted very fresh - the sake list was great... But...... all of that came crashing to a halt when my girlfriend and I saw a mouse run across the floor right after we finished eating. Zento has great food, but they need to call an exterminator.

I have been going to Deme for about a year now. I have had a lot of dentists over the years, and Deme is by far my favorite. The office is modern and extremely clean and they are staffed with some of the best dentists in Philadelphia. Everyone that works at Deme is warm and professional - a great vibe for a dentist's office. I was referred there due to a dental emergency - they got me in as soon as possible and took excellent care of my teeth. My dentist (Dr. Ford - she's awesome) was genuinely concerned with my case. They take amazing care of my teeth, I will be a loyal patient to Deme for as long as I live in Philly.
