Is there any analysis of the effect of some object half way between us and Tabby's star, say an interstellar asteroid which happens to be on a more or less linear trajectory from KIC8462 moving towards the Sun? I have wondered if such a trajectory could account for the gradual change in magnitude and also explain the rapid drops in brightness: small perturbations around a linear trajectory could presumably nudge an object further in or out of the direct line of sight.

#gchq #puzzle Here's a quick screenshot of the gridshader. Anyone suggest suitable cost function? Was considering whether gradient descent algorithm might be able to efficiently search for solutions to grids like this? chrismcginlay.github.io/gridshader

Grid-shader should now work with touch on mobile! http://chrismcginlay.github.io/gridshader/
This is pretty much useable tool now. Create a github issue for any feature requests, or fork the repo! #gchq #puzzle

Added the GCHQ clue squares to my GCHQ gridshader app.
Doesn't play on mobile yet (I haven't looked at Canvas on mobile yet!)
