The most famous and legendary pizzeria in Napoli. If this is the first pizza you're having in this amazing city, I'm sure you'd want to call your friends over and tell them the wonders Neopolitans create with just cheese, tomatoes and a dilapidated wood oven. You'd probably curse your luck for eating all those ersatz flatbreads masquerading as pizzas in your hometown. But once you calm down and explore the vibrant historic center of the city, you'd come across even better variations of the art. That said, the first bite of the pizza in Napoli is divine and outrageous. This is after all the birthplace of Pizza!! I fell in love, one bite at a time :) P.S: If you haven't guessed, waiting in the line is absolutely worth it! P.P.S: the one at Sorbillo is still the greatest one I've ever tasted. Oh! How I miss Napoli

Something tells me Michele was exactly like this when it was founded years and years ago, and this really adds to its charm. It is a bit spartan and bare. But it does not matter because this place is all about the pizza and boy is it good pizza! The queues outside this tiny cantina are long and were long for my entire stay in Naples. So, I opted for a takeaway and the choice was easy - a Margherita for a bargain 6 euros - because there was not much choice - there are only two dishes on the menu. A very strong taste of ripe tomatoes hit me as I bit into this pizza. I knew then that this is what pizza should be like. Even though there was not much mozzarella, this pizza was all about the sauce and the dough. The dough! Light, thin and slightly crispy - the perfect crust for the perfect pizza!

We ware told that it is the most famous and the best pizzeria in Naples, but we were very dissapointed. We were very lucky to be sitted same time when we enter, but before we left there were already 10 people waiting outside. They put 2 couples in the same table without asking. We ordered food 5 minutes after we sat, 5 min later we received beer, another 10min waiting time for pizza. No wonder there is such a big queue. They have only 2 types of pizza in menu, 5 cooks and still it's not easy enough to provide good service. Pizza was avarage quality. And we eat it very fast just to get out of that place. I would never recommend that pizzeria to anyone. For sure it was interesting experience but not so pleasent ;)

Used to be one of the very best Pizzerias in Naples, but since it became famous worldwide thanks to a popular book and movie the quality dropped down dramatically. It is now a touristic place were waiters take pictures for the customers, and serve them poor sometimes burned pizzas. On the top of that, you might have to wait for an hour to be served because staff works incredibly slowly. Try instead Di Matteo for a super cheap, good quality variety of pizza and fried specialties, or go to 50 kaló for the very best quality and service. Furthermore both these places serve all their customers almost instantaneously.

One of the best pizzeria in Napoli, you may not want to miss it! The menu offers only the original two types of pizza and you will have to share most likely the table with strangers. Always extremely crowded and with long waitings.

Yes you have to wait in the crowd of people outside. Yes its a bit sparse inside. Yes you have to share a table. Yes your drink will be in a plastic cup. Yes the staff can be abrupt if its busy (it always is). And there's only 2 things on the menu. But its absolutely brilliant, pizza unlike any you will get outside of Naples. Words can not do it justice, just try it. I'm a career long chef and i know i could spend the rest of my life trying and still never make a pizza that good. If you appreciate REAL food and the luxury trappings don't matter this is a must for any bucket list.

A Naples institution. Queues might be incredibly long especially on weekends. Better get a take away one (ask at the till) and sit somewhere outside on a bench nearby to enjoy it (make sure you have a few hand wipes).
