Thanks, Julie, for dropping by. The history -- haunted and otherwise -- of these places fascinated us as well. Plus it gave us some context for the bizarre events we encountered. Thanks for virtually coming along on the adventure with us! :)

Hmmm couldn't make out the "Jim" on this, but the flashlight episode was definitely notable. Is it just a regular flashlight? Or is it a ghost hunter specialty flashlight?

You were so polite when they dimmed the light. I guess it pays to use good manners with the other-worldly, just in case... ;)

As always, fascinating!
Our account this week from our paranormal investigations for the new book takes place at the Beaumont Hotel & Spa in Ouray, CO. Note Queen Anne Victorian architecture But first a S/O to co-owner Jennifer Leaver, who gave us a...

Hi, Julie. Really had trouble minimizing the background hum of  industrial refrigerator noise. Sounded much clearer in our file than by the time we converted this to a YouTube file. We'll have to work on cleaning this up. Sorry! The flashlight is an over-the-counter 160-lumen product (actually picked it up at a convenience store on the way to our investigation at Twin Lakes!) Seems counter intuitive, but the stronger the light, the easier it seems to be for spirits to dim it. Thanks for continuing to follow these accounts. :)

I can't wait to read your book and will be sad when the adventure is over here. Maybe books sales will fund further trips. There are other-worldly voices to be heard!
Our paranormal investigation account this week takes place at the Vintage Inn B&B in Gunnison, CO. 1880s-era Vintage Inn B&B But first a S/O to owner/proprietor Beth Marcue, who welcomed us and made her entire B&B availabl...

Ha! We think the paranormal bug has bitten, for sure. We're already brainstorming a follow-up book -- anything as an excuse to continue this journey! :) And thx 4 the interest in the forthcoming book. We're close to finishing the ms. Jnd just one more investigation to conduct for the book!

My friends, Mark and Kym Todd of Write in the Thick of Things are writing a book about haunted hotels in Colorado. They even have equipment, apparently, that can record changes in the magnetic field in the room and voices. They are sharing their findings on their blog, http://writeinthethick.blogspot.com/. I am a skeptic and realist and tend to roll my eyes at these kind of things, but I know these people-- they're not whack-jobs, so I'm even more intrigued. I'm hooked and keep following their posts, trying to find holes to feed my doubt, but I just get more intrigued!
