The De Vine Arts Group is excited to present the first show in the new Arts Centre gallery on Wharton Street. The show, “Open Windows,” which runs from April 6th to May 12, 2017, represents a fresh new approach to the works of many of the artists. Artistic expression is never static, but continues to evolve as new ideas present themselves along with technical development.

De Vine Arts represents a group of Summerland and District creative individuals who express themselves in quality paintings, pastels, prints, photography, jewelry, zentangle drawings, art cards, fused glass, pottery, and wood working.

The group’s primary objective is to provide mutual support and marketing opportunities for local artists, many of whom had their work featured at various wineries in the area. The name, De Vine Arts, sprang from the relationship between artists and the wine industry.

De Vine Arts has participated in a number of cultural events, including two meet-and-greet showcase presentations at Summerland Waterfront Resort, and at events such as the Quest Society Garden Tour, Summerland Community Exposition, Centennial Celebrations of the Friends of the Ornamental Gardens, and Cultural Days.

The show opens at the Wharton Street location on April 6th from 7 – 9 pm. Refreshments will be served and artists will be in attendance to discuss their works. There is no admission charge, but donations to help support the work of the Arts Council will be appreciated.
