Hi there. Love the show. I had 3 months paternity leave - I live in Europe :-) - and listened to every show from the start. It kept me sane!

Anyway, I just wanted to say you were kind of wrong on the pre-increment/post-increment issue in the Unity episode.

Firstly, the return value from ++i or from i++ in a for loop is just ignored. So in terms of the logic, it makes no difference.

A pre-increment operator for a complex object (an iterator, say) just needs to increment, then return the new value.

But a post-increment operator has to store the original value, then increment, then return the stored original value.

Now, if that copy step for post-increment is intensive (for a user-defined iterator, say), then doing i++ is worse than doing ++i.

Segregation and Shared Use Paths
I'm a big fan of segregated paths for bikes. I think the Dutch and the Danes have it right, with roads for cars, paths for bikes, and pavements for pedestrians. For the most part, Edinburgh Council don't seem to agree, and they tend to build shared-use path...
