Happy Today, my friends. Be happy with yourself and you'll be able to be happy with other aspects of your life as well. Learn to be happy with who and how you are, but also work to always be a better you than you were yesterday. We're not perfect, though we are perfectly us, and that means that we ALWAYS have room to improve ourselves somehow. Knowing that we are a work in progress, and enjoying the process of betterment, allows you to find joy in you and in your life. Be well and happy.

Anger, a temper, a short fuse. We struggle with these things on a daily basis. Between the stimulus (whatever it is that would normally set a person off) and the reaction (anger) is boundless opportunity. In that moment is where the power to control one's self exists. It is that moment that we can try to work within. Where, by being mindful and present, we will be able to turn from any angry response and interact with kindness, compassion and understanding. It is a moment that I struggle with every day. And it's that moment that I aspire to be able to identify.

Good morning everyone and welcome to a new Today!

"Sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a desire to alleviate it".
-
Can you guess what word this is the definition of? Le't say for a moment that the word this defines isn't what's important. Let's say that word doesn't even exist right now. And instead, let's just look at what those words are describing. It's saying to not only be sympathetically aware of the issues/problems/hardships of the people you encounter, but to also WANT to do something to make those issues/problems/hardships go away. Now imagine if we, us, ourselves, were to actively do this with the people WE meet every day. Imagine if we were "sympathetically conscious" of the problems of those around us and we had a "desire to alleviate" those problems. Imagine the help we could be. Imagine the hurt we could do away with. Imagine how meaningful your Today would have been for both yourself and for the people around you. And all because of, Compassion. Be well my friends.

Good morning and welcome to a brand new Today! It's easy to think that other things or other people are what we need to be happy. "If I had just a little more money, I'd be happy." "If I had a significant other, I'd be happy." "If I had a certain type of vehicle, I'd be happy." But the truth is that your happiness can only be found in you. The source of your happiness is your decision to be happy. No thing or person can do that for you. And if you're not happy within and with yourself, you'd never be happy with other things or people anyway. Happiness is a conscious decision, not a state of being dependent on external conditions or stimuli. Happiness is YOUR choice, so why not choose to be happy Today? Be well my friends.
