So was talking with my family about getting back into theater several months ago. Work and family life are stressed enough as it is... but at least it would let me get out and flex my creative muscles....
This past spring, one of my coworkers (who moonlights as a director/creative manager for the Wichita Shakespeare Company) asked if I'd be willing to do the cover for his latest (upcoming) show. I agree, and start working on a storybook-style cover/poster that mixes Roman mythology with #ThePrincessBride
. He heard about my desire to get back into theater, so I asked if I could just audition... just to get the feel for things again.
To make a long story short, our show opens in two and a half weeks.... I wanted to reenter the acting scene slowly. So far a pretty good start... right? Well, now, I'll be starting a second show( MacBeth
) the week after my first show's opening weekend!!! Talk about jumping in the deep end!!!
