Trekking in Nepal after earthquake is safe and still possible with rewarding experiences. Earthquake on April 25th with continuing powerful aftershocks had really shook us hard but the natural beauty of Nepal is still untouched. National and International media had covered the news with images and videos that really shook us apart. The rubbles, collapsed buildings, temples, chaos and disastrous contents were all. Those contents were true but extended for much more publicity. As a result, it adversely affected the tourism sector of Nepal which has been major source of income for most of the Nepalese.
In the contrast, there were travelers like Remy Hoehener, who was there with his wife in Nepal during black day of 25th of April, and his pictures continues to inspire us and all adventure lovers for joining trekking in Nepal. Most of us were capturing the devastation, but he had different perception, in his blog (view it here) he says he loves Nepal and if you love Nepal too then Visit Nepal in our next holiday for trekking in Nepal. Best season for trekking in Nepal (autumn) is at the corner and it would be one of the ideal way to join in trekking adventures around foothills of Himalayas.

I was here for the 4th of July/Grateful Dead shows weekend and the place was full to capacity and even though they were dealing with thousands of people..the staff was super helpful and friendly. They made suggestions and answered all sorts of questions. I even got lost trying to find my car in the parking lot and a staff member walked with me to make sure I found it. I think the hotel went out of their way to make the experience one to remember. Taxi's come in and out in a very organized way and also the #3 bus stops right in front so it was easy to get to all the special places around town and back at night. The views from the rooms are lovely as well.

Actually it was last year, stayed there 3 days. Nice and clean, complete and new facilities, easy access to loop/ downtown/ attractions. I spent $90 per night, nothing can beat this I guess, highky recommended if you could get a great price, but itzs not woeth a hype for $200+

Stayed here for a trip to chicago with my kids and it was a very nice clean hotel. There were 2 things that i really didnt care for though: 1. Having to pay $34 for parking when im already staying at the hotel is quite ridiculous. 2. As beautiful as the bathroom/shower in the room was, the drain was very slow. You were wading in 2-3 inches of water as taking a shower. Other than those 2 things we really enjoyed our stay!
Response from the owner - 3 months ago
Dear Ms. McCollum, Thank you so much for staying with us! We greatly appreciate your business and your feedback. I will make sure that our maintenance team takes a look at the drain in your guestroom as that is not what should be happening! Thank you for sharing this with us so that we can fix the issue and prevent other guests from having your shower experience. I'm sorry that you did not feel that our self-parking was a good value. When we compare ourselves to our competitors, we are actually one of the only downtown hotels to offer self-parking especially with unlimited in/out privileges. Many hotels are valet only at upwards of $50-60/day. I do not share this with you to make any excuses, but instead to attempt to show you that we do care about giving our guests a good value on parking in downtown Chicago. I also hope that it will help to address one of your concerns so that you might consider staying with us again for any future visits to Chicago. We would love to welcome you back! I was here for a business trip and overall this will be my place I stay every time I come to Chicago. The location is perfect its right on the out skirts of downtown maybe a 5-7 drive not far at all its a great location due to it not being busy and being able to walk. I had a view of all the buildings and lake Michigan. For the price its not bad at all my room was clean and the front desk staff was very welcoming. The restaurants on site was good as well the hotel is very nice and its attached to the convention center. Cons: -Nothing major only thing is I felt since I stayed during the week the parking price of 34 a night is a little too expensive it should had been lower - Hidden taxes and fees they charge you after you check out - The room had every amenities you need except a microwave. They have a small re fridge but it doesn't help if you have leftovers from all the good food Chicago has you cant eat it in the room. Other than that Ill be back to stay next time ill go with a suite instead.

Dear Mr. Harmon, Thank you so much for staying with us and taking the time to recommend us to your friends and family. Our city views are pretty spectacular, aren't they? I apologize that you did not feel that our parking was a good value. We do regular price comparisons around the city to remain competitive and we continue to find that our self-parking price is the lowest of our competitors and one of the only hotels to offer unlimited in/out privileges. I do not share this with you to sound defensive, but rather, so that you will know that we want to offer our guests a good value. I do hope that we can be your preferred hotel in Chicago as you mention. We look forward to welcoming you back! Best regards, Liz Jaquez Social Media Marketing Manager

Stayed there one night over the weekend for Taylor Swift concert. Hate the fact that I even called to confirm my reservation and upon arrival I was told that there were only king rooms available and Hyatt was not responsible for what expedia sells. As someone who's worked in hospitality and in a high end hotel before I can't believe you would not only do nothing to accommodate but you also placed the blame on expedia stating that you aren't responsible for that expedia sells. Wow! Just wow I can't believe you would even call that good customer relations. I will never book Hyatt hotels again!

The stay was very nice. I did have a small problem. Room service was not up to par. I had a steak that was under cooked. I asked for Medium Well and and got Medium rare. The day I checked out the front desk person did take it off my bill. Why four stars. I had a small window for dinner. Going out to eat was not an option. I will return since this hotel was very nice, rooms were comfortable and the staff was very good.
Response from the owner - 4 months ago
Dear Mr. Lancaster, Thanks for sharing your feedback! I'm sorry to hear about your steak, but I'm happy that our front desk staff removed the charge in an effort to ensure your satisfaction. I will make sure to share your review with our In Room Dining team to address. Thank you again for letting us know. We appreciate your business! I cancelled my reservation 30 hours prior to the booking date. The hotel requires cancellation 24 hours prior to avoid any fees. Yet I was charged for one night. No email was sent to me when I was charged - thankfully I saw it in my credit card statement. I spent around 30 minutes over phone to get the charge reversed. No apologies were offered - the charge was made because "the computer software might have had a bug".
