Copying others is not a bad idea after all .. isn't that what we do as makers?

Hello all

My site operates in two languages, English and French, I have a checkout page say thankyou.htm, and it resides under two folders example.com/en/thankyou.htm and  example.com/fr/thankyou.htm

I want to define a checkout goal? what is the best practice to do it?
Currently it's done this way: a defined goal that based on page destination, in the box I placed /thankyou.htm and I chose the regular expression as the option, is that right?

Thank you all in advance

it should, there's a test option on the bottom (verify) check if that works. Also manually test the regex after it is set up by completing forms  on both pages. Good luck

Hello and thanks in advance for this great community

I work at an eCommerce site, and currently working on a customer variable that stores the visitors first visit's source, that would allow us to assess our online campaigns and  user acquisition strategy in the long run.

To explain what I mean better, let's assume that I'm targeting four different mediums: paid search, organic, forums, and twitter. if I can sort our users based on how did they reach our site (using one of the previous mediums) that would help us optimize our online efforts much effectively.

Personally speaking, I don't prefer using a survey to get this info, because most people will ignore it completely, what I want is a method to get this info (first visit source) and then inject it into GA using custom variables.

Your help is really appreciated :)

It is not an easy question. I think the best solution is the one you are using (" ...customer variable that stores the visitors first visit's source ...."). But I would add to it the date of the first visit. Check these 2 sites to get some inspiration: http://cutroni.com/blog/2012/12/11/cohort-analysis-with-google-analytics/http://blog.rjmetrics.com/the-best-method-for-cohort-analysis-in-google-analytics/ (or search google for "cohort google analytics year month")

Linux for Nintendo DS!!

Out of pure curiosity, I was  Googling devices that can run Linux and I found this: http://www.dslinux.org/
Is there any device that Linux hasnt been ported to? I'm really starting to wonder if Linux can be flashed  on coffee machines
