Wow, it's been a really long time since I posted here. Too much time on That Other Social Network, the one that Aaron Sorkin did a movie about, not enough here. Please forgive me for being remiss.

100/366: Lost In Translation
In the Philippines, this is a beloved dessert...a kind of steamed sponge cake. However, if you grew up in Southern California, this word, in Spanish, is one of those words you learn first because it's quite rude.

I think I've had it, but it was called "Filipino Sponge Cake." It was yum, though. Very good as a replacement for shortcake in strawberry shortcake, btw.

98/366: OMG Posies!!!!

I had feared that the ornamental cherry trees at Beilenson Park in Lake Balboa were not going to put on their usual show because many got seriously clobbered by heavy rain a few weeks ago. However, fall down 7, stand up 8, the trees recovered and were breathtakingly beautiful. More in my Beilenson Park photo diary.

101/366: The Carnival Sets Up Shop
Now that Lent is over, the Carnies are back in Panorama City. It seems we get a lot of them in a given year.

99/366: The Bunnies Are Multiplying
Ever since I started working on Pray For Japan, I really fell hard for Cocoa-chan, the pet rabbit of one of the volunteers, Manabu Endo, profiled in the film. I found that I already had a little brown Beanie Baby rabbit that was a dead ringer for the critter. I brought the stuffed toy in to the edit suite, and kept it at my workstation. Since today's Easter, all the stores are marking down their Easter goodies, so I wound up with two more. The center bunny still looks the most like Cocoa-chan, but now the little stuffed toy has got company.
