MY one cat gladly accepts Kali Ma from trusted souls. Another cat of mine appears to want this, but it is a trap!  What is up with hyperspace?

Woke up at 5:30, ran 14 miles, went to my first #IngressFS, walked 9km more (8 officially, but it ticked up to 9 right after I checked in at the end, of course, haha), had a nice Turkey dinner and then went to Easter vigil Mass.  A good day.

Ready for #PortalAppealReview 32 to 4.

Type of Appeal: Rejected New Submission

Portal Title: St. Joseph Catholic Church - Cabot
Location: 315 Stoney Hollow Road, Cabot, PA 16023 (Approximately 40.764110, -79.762534)

This falls under the special nod category of place of worship.

By those GPS coordinates, it is admittedly fairly close to the St. Joseph Statue out front, which was somewhat annoyingly approved a few weeks ago, though it was submitted after the church.  The distance is far enough that the two portals would be distinctly separate on the scanner, though perhaps it could be better placed. The church is open during the day and the window up high allows for good GPS insinde the building?

Consider too, the value of this compared to the statue out front.

Thanks!

Type of Appeal: Rejected new submission
Reason given for rejection: Does not meet criteria

Portal Title: Carnivores
Location: 215 Allegheny Ave, Oakmont, PA 15139 (Approximately 40.514390, -79.843884), Streeview is available: http://goo.gl/vZcY3h

This is a unique local place and I believe it meets at least two criteria (and three total) to make this a high quality portal candidate.

Criteria I believe this meets:

A COMMUNITY GATHERING PLACE: As a unique (not a chain) local establishment with one of the largest selection of beer (hundreds), lots of people gather here to socialize. This is a local hangout where people gather, talk and spend time together. It is a local landmark in Oakmont.

A COOL PIECE OF ART: My picture is of the sign, which is a very cool piece of art.  One word: Dinosaur.

A HIDDEN GEM OR HYPER-LOCAL SPOT: "A popular local spot that you would take a friend visiting your community for the first time." When customers (and friends) come to town, this is the spot I generally take them, especially if they are beer-lovers.

+Matt Buchwald , sometimes even if you do get the votes, it's still no from Niantic.  It's best to try though, because not trying is a NO, trying opens the possibility to yes.  https://plus.google.com/+IvanRussell/posts/K8NTycUimhE

+NIA Ops I love glyph hacking, and so I appreciate the badge and the AP that were added.  However the AP is really too high.  For any L6+ portal, assuming a perfect glyph hack, I get more AP for glyph hacking than I do for linking, which is absurd.  consider cutting back the amount of AP gained from glyph hacking. #Ingress #GlyphHackingAP

Is it cool if I ask for some portal appeal help here? If this becomes a portal, we should have some crossfaction beer there sometime. Or maybe even if it doesn't.

Just noticed that the mission creator has been updated to require descriptions, and to enforce a minimum of 6 waypoints. Glad to see the API finally caught up to the criteria.

+NIA Ops, please in the future keep the two in sync. Thanks!

Type of Appeal: Rejected New Submission

Portal Title: Saint Francis Shrine
Location: 40.765594,-79.762460

Meets the criteria:
1. Historically important to St. Joseph Cabot Parish since the parish is serviced by the Capuchin Franciscan Friars.
2. Composed of statues, which are artwork
3. Is a shrine, a gathering place for prayer (In addition, the blessing of pets is performed here every year)
4. Hidden Gem - It's very pretty here, but tucked back on the grounds quite a bit. If you don't venture to the far end, you'd never notice it.

This was rejected as being too close to another portal, likely: https://www.ingress.com/intel?ll=40.764856,-79.762214&z=18&pll=40.76557,-79.762205 which was approved about an hour prior to this rejection. That portal, St. Joseph Nature Trail, is a dilapidated nature trail that is currently unusable, even were there to be no snow. St. Joseph Nature Trail is also located in the wrong location, and should be at 40.765523,-79.762281. I have submitted a location edit for it, but believe these should be addressed in concert. I believe the locations mentioned should be over 20m apart, which is plenty of room for each to be selected via the scanner.

Should only one of these portals be allowed to remain, it should be this one, due to it being a better quality portal and more valuable to the parish at which they are located.

+Matt Buchwald That seems to have happened to others as well. Although outside of the appeals process. A bug perhaps..
