"If I had to pick a bug in the Raspberry Pi," Eben remarked this morning, "excessive sensitivity to paparazzi is the one I would pick."

We've discovered that a REALLY high-intensity burst of light, like a xenon flash or a laser pointer, can make your Pi 2 crash or reboot; bright sunlight, indoor lighting and even other types of flash don't, and there are no lasting ill effects. Find out about the photoelectric effect and about easy work-arounds using such common materials as Blu-tack, Sugru or bread (really) in our blog post: www.raspberrypi.org/xenon-death-flash-a-free-physics-lesson/.
If you own a Raspberry Pi 2, congratulations: you're also the proud owner of an elegant demonstration of the photoelectric effect! At the weekend, Peter Onion, a veteran of our forums and of Raspberry Jams in Cambridge, Bletchley and surrounding areas (visible, costumed, in the background of ...

The World's First $9 Computer is tiny and has built in WiFi and Bluetooth! http://ow.ly/MEt9j
Cheaper and more powerful than Raspberry Pi, "Chip" by Next Thing Co. could be the next revolution in single-board computing.
