Last Saturday, FTSG Executive Director Lorraine Weber and Help Closet Coordinator Shirley Roseman were on the CW's Street Beat to talk about ways anyone can easily help "our" kids in foster care.

Thank you Street Beat, and great job Lorraine & Shirley!

Near the end of June, the Motor City Songbirds Festival raised over $1,500 for Play It Forward, our music program for foster children. Thank you, organizer Julie Sias, and everyone else who made this event such a success!

We put out the call, the local optometric community responded, and now a young man in foster care has the glasses he desperately needed. Thank you, Detroit Optometric Society and Optical World!

Busy Bee Book Fair a Huge Success!
Thanks to your donations, we were able to provide books, games, and movies to more than 170 foster children and teens during our Busy Bee Book fair, which was part of Wayne County DHS's Summer Safety Extravaganza on June 18.
Many, many thanks to everyone who stepped up to give "our" kids the gift of reading (and gaming, and great movies) this summer!
P.S. Apologies for being unable to show you clear photos of the children -- doing so is prohibited to protect their privacy.

This week we have a foster mom who is in urgent need of a stroller for a five-month old infant and a booster seat for an almost four-year-old child. This mom uses public transportation and has nerve damage in her arm, so carrying the baby is very hard for her.

If you can help, please contact Shirley Roseman at helpcloset@detroitlawyer.org. Thank you!

Success Story -- Foster Teen Goes to Prom!

Last year we received more than 200 Prom dresses during our Prom Palooza drive, and we're still giving lovely gowns to area foster teens.

One of those teens has given us permission to share her prom photo with you -- introducing Renee, who looked fantastic on Prom Night!

Thank you, Renee, for allowing us to share in your joy!
