This place is AMAZING for all your computer hardware, software and peripherals. The staff is helpful but they will UP SELL you hard. Please educate yourself before going in especially when building your own PC. The staff will claim you hardware fsr superior and expensive than what you truly need. As I said please educate yourself prior to coming. Watch out for their price tags! Those prices are the mail in rebate prices not the sale price, you may find yourself spending much more money at checkout than you anticipated. Overall, great place if you don't feel like buying computer stuff online.

Hi Eric, I apologize for the trouble you have had with the salesman. We'll definitely use this feedback to improve. Did you receive all the rebates you had on your products? I'm happy to help! Email me at with a copy of this review and further details if I can be of any assistance. Thank you again for the feedback! Thanks, James Customer Relations Micro Center

micro center has a great selection of products you'll otherwise only find online, but there's often a premium to pay for that tactile gratification/convenience. the sales staff is very often quite helpful, but just as frequently can be overly aggressive on one hand or jarringly dismissive on the other. Go to micro center for the wide selection of interesting, useful products--many of which you won't find for retail sale elsewhere. Do not go to micro center for stellar prices or outstanding customer service.

I purchased a Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series from the Cambridge, MA Microcenter on December 27, 2014, but only began using the laptop regularly in September 2015. Within two months of light use, the touchscreen had cracked. It's apparent from the cracks on the screen that it broke from the pressure of being opened: that is, the screen cracked exactly where I put my thumb when opening the laptop. Please note that there is no other way to open the laptop other than by applying such pressure. I assumed I did not have a problem: I had purchased an extended warranty on parts, so I brought the computer back to the Microcenter store on Memorial Drive. But I left completely unsatisfied. The manager on site, told me that the warranty I had purchased did not cover the screen. The manager then told me that Dell required that the laptop be returned to its factory for repairs at a cost of $519. I told the manager that I thought Microcenter had some obligation to refund a considerable portion, if not all, of my laptop: after all, the machine had broken after two months of light, normal use. He offered to refund the extended warranty (which I accepted) and offered $50, or about 10 percent of the original purchase price, toward a new laptop. I declined this as woefully inadequate. To sum up: Microcenter sold me a laptop that cannot handle two months of normal use and an inadequate warranty. When I attempted to resolve the issue, the store offered a pittance toward a new computer but nothing else. As I mentioned above, I will not set foot in Microcenter again. I will also, of course, warn others against trusting an apparently friendly local store. If a brick-and-mortar store is unwilling to help longtime customers in redressing an obvious wrong, why shouldn't everyone just purchase their equipment on line?

Helped us out in a big way. We went there with a Lenovo laptop (a brand you should never buy) that was continuously running out of HD space without us installing anything. One of their employees went out and increased our memory for free. They were a god send. If you ever have trouble with your laptop breaking down you should take a visit to this Micro Center and they'll do their best to help fix your problem. This isn't a paid review, I promise.

They misdiagnosed my laptop and I spent a month with out it for no reason. They tried to sell me a $100 OS re installation even though I personally couldnt even install an OS on it myself let alone get the CD drive to be recognized in BIOS!!! I was scammed out of $40 to misdiagnose my laptop and I now have to drive 30 minutes just to ask for my money back since their phone service is so bad and I get disconnected every time I call. The lady at the checkout who didn't know what she was talking about said it was probably a driver issue and offered no further help, the cashier register woman was probably plug and play like my CD drive. I think the $40 is payment to not deal with you guys again.

It's hard to run a store like this these days. The employees by and large are not knowledgeable, many of them are outright idiots. They have a DIY electronics retail section which is awesome, but not one employee has any idea what the hell is going on. When I asked for help, I was told "that's why it's called the Do-It-Yourself section" -- pretty hilarious, but not a great business model, as he really didn't have any clue what to do in response to basic questions. Also the sales & repair guys are con-men. Watched them lie up and down to a woman that her iPad was forever killed, when in reality all she had was a faulty power cable! This comes with the territory. I was going to give two, then three, then two, then finally one star, as I wrote this. I realized it's hard to imagine them actually being any worse

The only full service computer parts and sales place around. Nowhere else comes close. Ask for the salesman Ray, I have been dealing with him for years and he knows his stuff.

Thanks John!
