My Down Under visit to Sydney was another solo trip for me after Eastern Europe. I have heard so much about Australia from friends and wifey that I thought bustling Sydney would be a good place to start with. I simply cannot contain my excitement to finally see the stunning Opera House and Harbour Bridge. G’Day Mate for the next 4D3N! #sydney   #australia  +Sydney

We move out early to board the train bound for Den Haag Centraal before catching Tram No.9 to Madurodam. The open-air theme park was built in 1952 and continues to add or update exquisite miniature landmarks of Netherlands over the years. It’s like a mini-Netherlands showcasing from windmills, bridges, canals, buildings to major structures in 1/25 scale. #netherlands   #madurodam
Spending a few hours in Madurodam is like completing a grand tour around Netherlands after seeing all the detailed miniature landmarks.

Zaanse Schans is a famous windmill town near to Amsterdam. Located in Zann district where it used to be populated with numerous industrious windmills. The once-important windmills were made redundant after the introduction of Steam Engine during the industrial revolution. Thank goodness that a windmill society came up with the idea to preserve the heritage of Zann district. #zaanseschans   #windmills   #netherlands

Moving on to the Low Countries and Brussels is our next destination. A rail workers’ strike effectively reduced our time in Brussels from 1.5 days to a mere day trip. As a result, my planned visit is disrupted and to make do with the given time instead. Not going to let this setback affect our holiday mood, though. But rather, this perhaps gave me one reason to come back here again in the future. #brussels   #belgium   #grandplace   #mannekepis

St Paul Cathedral is one of London’s many iconic landmarks and the first destination in my itinerary list the next morning. The awe-inspiring architecture with its impressive dome is a big wow factor, and that continues to the imposing Baroque interior with great looking mosaics on the ceiling. The massive and opulent interior reminds me of St. Peter’s Basilica which is equally impressive. #stpaul   #london   #uk   #whisper   #cathedral

Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) is the largest ancient castle in the world according to Guinness Book of Records. Its enormous compound area consists of the Royal Palace for the Kings of Bohemia, St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica and a Monastery centred around three grand courtyards. Besides its historical importance, Prague Castle also doubles up now as an important political centre where the Czech Republic President’s office is located. #prague   #czechrepublic   #praguecastle   #stvitus

Cube House (Kubuswoningen) and Madurodam are the main reasons for our day trip from Amsterdam. It’s now time to marvel at edgy architectures after the fun in the land of Lilliputians. And the best place would definitely be Rotterdam, for the modern city is populated with many uniquely designed buildings. #rotterdam   #netherlands

De Oude Kerk was originally built as a Catholic church but taken over by Dutch Protestant reformers. The reformers simplified the large interior and destroyed most Catholic ornamentation in it. The simplification presents a very spacious and different feel to the usual decoration seen in Catholic churches. #amsterdam   #netherlands

It’s already dinner time in Amsterdam by the time we arrived from Brussels. On the positive side, that’s also the time where the city truly comes alive. While Amsterdam is known for countless bridges and endless canals, the capital city is also synonymous with drugs and sex. In fact, some of the crazy things to do in Amsterdam include a visit to the Red Light District or getting high. #amsterdam   #canals   #bridges   #netherlands

This iconic landmark of London spanned the River Thames between Tower Hamlets and Southwark. The construction of Tower Bridge was built to ease the traffic congestion on London Bridge. I should also highlight that Tower Bridge is not London Bridge, totally different bridge altogether. But it is common for people to make the mistake since Tower Bridge is so famous in London. #london   #uk   #towerbridge   #toweroflondon
London Travel Blog: An amazing day to visit both Tower Bridge and Tower of London before a splendid beefy dinner at Harrods Food Hall.

London has always been on my mind for various reasons. One is due to the traditional nursery rhyme of a certain London Bridge. Second being the fact that Singapore was formerly a British’s colony and I had to study some part of that History in school. Third was when I realized that Singapore Dollar was 1:3 against the Pound in currency exchange back then – I need to see what is the big deal about this country. #london   #uk   #shopping   #outlet   #bicester

Charles Bridge (Karlův most) is a magnificent stone gothic bridge that spans across Vltava River since the 15th century. It connects the Old Town (Staro Měste) with Lesser Town (Malá Strana) and the prominent Prague Castle. Adding to its charm are 2 beautiful fortified towers at both the ends, and 30 Baroque statues lined along the bridge. This best-known attraction in Prague is visited by thousands every day. #prague   #czechrepublic   #charlesbridge
