Low lying ground (or water in this case) fog covers the Portsmouth waterfront this morning. Clear skies overnight and temperatures in the 30s generally means the water is warmer than the air which is one of the conditions for fog to form Pretty whatever the reason..

October visitors to Portsmouth will be greeted by the annual "Scarecrows of the Port" display all around town.
A local volunteer group creates and distributes the scarecrows each year i October with some help from the city to hang them up. A fun and spooky Halloween tradition in the port city of Portsmouth.

No, Nubble Lighthouse hasn't been painted green. It's just being repainted and undergoing some maintenance to keep it shipshape. The sight of the light wrapped in scaffolding and giant green drop cloths is a little jarring when you first see it if you're familiar with the normal, pristine white structures on the island.

Fall leaf colors are at their peak or nearing it now in New Hampshire. This psst Columbus Day weekend welcomed around 300,000 'leaf peepers' to the Granite State to ooh and ahh. Lots of area fall festivals going on at this time of year too. Get out and enjoy the colors and have some fun.
