Congratulations to Dr. Barbara Herlihy, who will serve as CSI’s next President-Elect, and Dr. Cassie Storlie, who has been elected as CSI’s next Secretary! We thank all of the outstanding candidates who ran for office this year. Dr. Herlihy and Dr. Storlie will begin their terms in May 2016.

The CSI Counselors’ Bookshelf is holding a contest to encourage submission of reviews to the Bookshelf!  The chapters with the largest percentage of accepted reviews per number of members will receive monetary awards: First Place = $200 and Second Place = $100! Chapters will have two separate opportunities to win: Reviews will be recorded September 1, 2014 - December 31, 2014 and January 1, 2015 - June 1, 2015.  Learn more at www.csi-net.org/?page=Counselors_Bookshelf!

For the second year, CSI and CACREP are co-sponsoring a Leadership Essay Contest! This year’s contest will focus on CSI’s 2015-2016 theme: “Transformational Excellence.” CSI members can enter the contest in one of two categories: Entry-Level Students and Doctoral Students/Professional Counselors/Counselor Educators. A first place recipient in each category will receive $500, a one-year CSI membership renewal, and publication of the essay in the CSI Exemplar, the CACREP Connection newsletter, and on both associations’ websites. Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) is an international honor society that values academic and professional excellence in counseling. We promote a strong professional identity through members (professional counselors, counselor educators, and students) who contribute to the realization of a healthy society by fostering wellness and human dignity. Our mission is to promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership, advocacy, and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.
