Took a friend there that was in from out of town for a great local coffee shop breakfast. Well....we got rude baristas instead. The dude that was working had on a muscle shirt which I'm pretty sure you aren't allowed to wear while working with food for health code reasons.... And when he made my bagel sandwich wrong and I asked for him to correct it he said "yea you need to specify that next time" with a snarky attitude. I replied that I DID in fact specify what I wanted when I ordered, but perhaps he was too busy talking to the other rude Batista when we walked in to fully pay attention... Or maybe there was too much air on his exposed armpits for him to concentrate. I could go on but being practically ignored and treated with snarky attitudes by the employees here is the LAST thing I want to deal with pre-coffee and while showing a friend a local chicago business. I've worked in many cafes over the years and the quickest way to piss off your community and customers is by hiring people with shitty attitudes, you can do better Dollop!!

Dollop is one of the best coffee shops in the city. They serve Metropolis coffee, which is my favorite among the local brands. This place is clean, unpretentious, and inviting. Whatever pie they have on hand, get it! You will not be disappointed. They even have fresh sandwiches made to order. In the back there are comfy chairs and books to read if you so desire. Wi-fi is free, so power outlets can be hard to come by.

Excellent coffee and brunch and lunch items with enjoyable atmospheric music make Dollop a perfect hang-out and study place. They source free trade coffee and local baked goods to provide an eco-friendly experience. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and the other customers are helpful with power outlets and whatever else you might need. Highly recommended!

This is a great little hidden gem in a sea of Starbucks and Dunkins. Cheap, caffeinated beverages make up Dollop's streamlined offerings. The natural tones of muted green and deep reds of the decor combined with the exposed masonry give off an aura of simplicity which is notably missing in many contemporary coffee shops. Sit down and stay caffeinated in down to earth bliss. Note: outlets are sparse and in odd locations, bring long cables or be a hero and being a portable power strip.

I have had better coffee in Chicago, but it's still very good here. They do various flavors and such but they don't drown the coffee! The service is good, the people are nice, and though it gets busy, I don't think I've ever seen it as crowded as some of the shops further south so the atmosphere is a little nicer as a result. The bakery goods are nice, too.

Great place to get real good coffee, and do some outside of the office work.
