The consumer driven "ecological" campaigns never mention that while we can all do our part to recycle they never say that power, industrial, and agricultural sources dwarf all the most wasteful people put together. And do so at tit's expense of individal financial & health damage. This is cool. I mean its something.

I totally agree. It's so threatening to the ideology that it threatens identity for self identified libertarians or self identified conservatives. The challenge is getting through to independents who vote on the conservative end. Involving religious leaders is a good start.
