I am a male gray tabby and white domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 10 WEEKS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 10/07/2015 from NY 11208, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

Observed collar around kitten’s mouth. Cut off collar and asked 1205 to look at. Per 1205, kitten is ok.

10/07/15 14:10 Phoenix is a gray tabby cat that came in today as a stray. Finder stated that that he is doing construction at work on the Brooklyn Development Center and they find cats within the walls. No further information was given. Upon intake, Phoenix showed signs of fear. It kept retreating to the back of the carrier and hissed when i attempted to move it from the carrier. Phoenix did not allow itself to be handled but it did allow itself to be collard and photographed in the carrier. Its sex is not yet determined but it will undergo a complete medical examination.

10/10/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Phoenix does not come to front cage. He watches the assessor from the back of the cage in a low and tense position. When spoken quietly: Phoenix continues to watch assessor from the back of the cage Reaction to door cage opening: Phoenix hisses with his ears flat Reaction to touch: Phoenix tries to avoid touched but remains motionless while being petted Try picking cat up: Phoenix is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Phoenix was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick Phoenix up. We recommend that Phoenix goes to a home with experienced cat parents.
