Menu

Named after the southern Italian region of Lazio, Latium is owned by Chef-Patron Maurizio Morelli, along with London restaurateur, Claudio Pulze. The restaurant is proud to celebrate its 10 anniversary in 2013; having opened to great critical acclaim in 2003, it quickly gained a loyal clientele and reputation as one of London’s finest independent traditional Italian restaurants.

While the menu covers most regions of Italy, there is a particular emphasis on the cuisine of Lazio. Maurizio is committed to sourcing ingredients from small, artisan producers, with many specially imported from his hometown of Latina. In true Italian style, he insists on preparing and making all his bread and pasta fresh each day, complemented only by the very best in seasonal British produce.

Professional but informal and welcoming service is crucial to the success of Latium. Restaurant Manager Alex Trumci manages the front-of-house team with a friendly, personal style, and brings a wealth of knowledge about Italian food and wine to the customer experience.

Latium is probably the best Italian place in London you've never heard of. I am Italian and always reluctant to spend money on my country's cuisine in London, having been disappointed by many famous (and expensive places). latium is a constant favourite, and has been around since 2003 flying in the face of "cool". In fact, the decor is quite dated, the service a bit formal and the presentation sometimes cutesy BUT...the food, it's all about the food. Latium specialises in fresh pasta- ravioli are especially outstanding, with fillings going from delicate fish to tasty cheeses. All pastas are great and meat and fish mains are not just an afterthough; they do please British palates with "international" twists, whilst remaining Italian in their attention to ingredients quality. Definitely worth one (and more) visits!

We arrived at Latium quite early, in fact we were the first ones to arrive. The deco is just okay, inoffensive, it's not going to win any interiors awards anytime soon. The table setting and the crockery were pristine and proper, the way I like it and the service was friendly and pleasant. The food is amazing and fresh. The ravioli menu is a revelation. Fantastic!

The service at Latium is fantastic; knowledgeable and attentive staff who are happy to serve you. The food is impressive. our starters were presented beautifully and were delicious. The portions were just right. Ravioli is something of a speciality at Latium and thus I went for the veal and parma ham ravioli. While not as impressive as the starter, the ravioli was good and was clearly made fresh to order. The portion size left some to be desired bit maybe that is more of a reflection of my large apetitite. Overall a great restaurant. Food and decor is very impressive and prices are reasonable. Although I would have happily paid more for slightly bigger portions.

Food was pretty good (I had the ravioli special), but was disappointed by the size of the portions for the price. Really friendly staff and good, though not great, ambiance.

A very subtle italian experience where every course is a treat. The portions are on the small side but the tastes are sophisticated. A good place to take a client, a date, or your significant other. The wine list is good and the servers knowledgeable. Low key is the only key played and it is all the better for it.

The ambience is average but the food is simply exceptional. Ravioli are a must if you choose this place. Prices are about fair.
