It is easily the best spot on university. Totally hipster mexican joint! Feels like a mexican cheers or something. Seriously, great food, great staff and the chips and salsa are awesome! Don't go around noon, it will be packed!

Very nice little Mexican restaurant. The staff are very nice even I was paying with a gift certification. They treated me very well and gave me a corner table near the window where I can see the entire restaurant and watch what people are eating. I ordered Gringo Quesadilla with Carne Asada Steak, which is too much for me to finish. The portion is big to me. The general manager came and answered my questions nicely. I will definitely come back for more items on their lunch menu. The parking is the only thing I don't like. With lunch crowd, I have to find parking in the alley and walk 5 minutes to the restaurant.

We arrived towards closing time and were welcomed to sit and eat. That was a plus as we had just flown in from MD and DC and wanted some good Mexican food. The manager was very helpful and suggested some great dishes. The staff was very attentive and stopped by frequently to check on us. You have to get the Guacamole it is simple the best I ever had. Love this place and will be back!

We've been there 4 times and it got worse each time. The original owners had excellent regional Mexican food. The new owners served bland, insipid food. The ambience was nice with the fake Botero (Colombian painter) and the salsa music was authentic (Celia Cruz, Tito Puente),but the music changed to Hard Rock under the new owners. No me dio mucho gusto. I will never return, nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My favorite Mexican food in the Phoenix area. Modern take on classical dishes. Higher prices but very generous portion sizes. Every menu item is uniquely delicious. A clean restaurant with wonderful staff. If you can get a spot near the fireplace, the patio is a pleasant place to eat in any weather. The parking lot is small but there's plenty of room on the nearby side streets.

Not your average Mexican food joint. This place puts some interesting, and delicious, twists on classic dishes. I have yet to order something that wasn't amazing. The atmosphere is awesome, super chill, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. First impressions are a big deal, the chips and salsa is usually that first impression at Mexican restaraunts...theirs is very good! It is a little pricey in comparison to other Mexican food places but it's worth it.

My favorite was the chimichanga and the berry churo ala mode. I like this place.

My dad and I stumbled across Mucho Gusto the first time I visited Phoenix and we loved it so much we repeated the experience this year, my girlfriend along this time as well. I plan on making this restaurant my routine last meal before leaving Phoenix each time I'm out there. It is a wonderful, upper-scale style Mexican food in a very relaxing environment. Service is smooth and spot on. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a unique, stylish take on Mexican cuisine.
