Starting up a new circle, in which I wish to discuss our collective Maker experiences, achievements and lessons learned.
By responding to this more public "share" you can get added to the circle. No response private or public I will take to mean that you do not want me to share with you my trials and tribulations.
My first will look like this.
Well the arduino code is written , the breadboard implementation seems to work, the next phase is to make it capable of living outdoors.
The goal of this arduino nano (£4.95 from Amazon) connected to an ultrasound distance detector and two relays is to :
1) keep my pond topped up
2) stop the filter pump when it detects that the pond is draining because of a blanket weed blockage.
To get to this stage was a matter of a few hours while watching telly. I suspect the next will take longer!
Wish me luck, and please share any advice on how to make the ultrasound detector outdoor proof I have ideas, but I am concerned about insects.
