Me, watching the US election ...

Can't order from my normal pet food online store, because they suddenly decided the custom email address I gave them violated their T&Cs. Also had to endure a (mostly misguided and incorrect) lecture on email from a bloke who "worked in IT for many years".

Impostor syndrome isn't really a thing. Everyone has "impostor syndrome" or at least 80% of us. Which makes it normal - not a syndrome.

'The phrase “impostor syndrome,”... was particularly appealing to a surreal genre of books that’s most easily described as “business self-help,” where the self-help lingo of pop psychology found an awkward bedfellow with the maxims of “how to succeed in business.”

I have it on good authority you can still sneak in a submission to the linux.conf.au CFP - so long as it's still Friday Anywhere on Earth!

"The CFP will remain open until 23:59:59 AOE Friday 5 August, which is equivalent to 21:59:59 Australian Eastern Standard Time on Saturday 6 August, or 11:59:59 UTC on Saturday."

IT WILL NOT BE EXTENDED.

Companies spend ridiculously large sums of cash developing fancy KPI dashboards and chasing their needles on a daily—and sometimes hourly—basis, in the quest for the ultimate, ongoing measure of their health. Is it worth it?

You're nearly out of time to submit to LCA!
Tell us how you’re shaping the Future of Open Source. The linux.conf.au 2017 Call for Proposals is now open!

linux.conf.au 2017 is a conference where people gather to learn about the entire world of Free and Open Source Software, directly from the people who shape the projects and topics that they’re presenting on.

If you’re working with Free and Open Source Software, Open Hardware, if you’re exploring openness in a field outside of technology, or if you’re doing something that you think will be interesting to people interested in Open Source, we want to hear from you!

Our CFP is open until Friday 5 August. Find out what we’re looking for in talk, tutorial, and miniconf proposals, and how to submit your proposal at https://linux.conf.au/proposals
