New "Action Based" Autoresponders Let You Take a Real Summer Vacation [GetResponse]

Here's an example of actions that can trigger an autoresponder message to a subscriber:

✔ opens a specified message
✔ clicks a specified link in a message
✔ signs up to one of your campaigns
✔ reaches a goal you’ve set (e.g. a download or purchase)
✔ changes personal details (such as city or product preference)
✔ receives a specified autoresponder message

Only the President can get away with sending daily emails [Mailchimp]

Email marketer +Ben Settle is known for sending messages to his list every day. He argues that if you are giving good content then people won't be annoyed.

A new study by Mailchimp disagrees. A frequency of your campaigns increase, engagement tends to decrease.

The exception - daily emails about a short term event, like a presidential campaign. 

The takeaway here is simple. Run for political office and you'll have an excuse for increasing the mailings to your list!

The science of flagging spammers before they spam [Mailchimp]

It turns out, most spammers are not malicious, just foolishly ambitious:

"about 98 percent of the spam that MailChimp identifies is what Foreman calls “ignorant" — that is, people or companies that just don’t know the laws or best practices around sending emails."
