The “humblebrag” – that’s when you say something that is supposed to sound humble, but is actually a bragging.  It might be tempting to humblebrag in a job interview, but some research shows that actually backfires, making you less likeable. So should you outright brag? Probably not.  The safest approach for resumes and job interviews is to be confident and factual, and demonstrate the value that you offer the employer for that particular job.
While humblebragging runs rampant on Twitter, it's a lousy self-promotion tactic that usually backfires according to recent research by Ovul Sezer, Francesca Gino, and Michael Norton.
