This place has a great bar that makes one of the best old fashions in the city. Great atmosphere for a first date, drinks with a few friends, or a calm place to begin you're event filled night of binge drinking. Just make sure you leave before you get too crazy. It's not that kind of bar ;-)

Did Valentine's Day here and had a seat at the cooking area. The cooks were fun to watch, the food was incredible, and the cocktails were delicious. Everything was presented very nicely.

Few things you need to know: -All tables are communal. -16% gratuity is added to every check. -You will need at least two plates to feel satisfied. -They run out of things/items so go early. I absolutely hate communal tables. I just don't get it. It makes the whole dining experience awkward when everyone at the table doesn't really want to sit with each other. Plus, we are paying for a dining experience, I don't see why anyone should feel uncomfortable during the entire meal. Anyway, we asked to be seated at the counter and that was pretty cool. We were able to see how they put the dishes together and chat it up a bit with one of the chefs. As for the 16% mandatory tip, it honestly doesn't bother me since I always tip anyway but when it affects the quality of service, then that's a problem. The servers were friendly, but I can't say they were attentive. We had to flag them down a couple times just for water. I don't know if they are just that way or if it's because they know they are getting a tip regardless. Now on to the food... While everything was good, nothing blew me away either. So I guess the best way to describe the food is underwhelming. There were two of us and we had 4 dishes plus 2 desserts. We were full at the end. Some reviews said their meat-less dishes were great, I didn't feel that way. We had the tofu, basil risotto, squid and pork belly, and trout. The one dish that stood out was the squid and pork belly. Everything else was just ok. For dessert, we had the milk chocolate and figs with brioche. The figs with brioche was great, the milk chocolate was just two bites of chocolate mousse. We sat at the end where the pastry chef was and saw that each plate going out had less and less figs as the night went by. We realized he was running out of them. We also wanted to order some soda but was told they ran out. So my advice is, go early. It's pretty funny since Plum is known to be a late night place but if you go late, they run out of stuff. My overall experience was alright. I'm a big fan of Coi's but can't say the same with Plum. I would spend a little more and head over to Commis instead.

I've only been to the Plum Bar. Really nice decor - very simple and modern. I like how you can order food from the bar as well. Their sweet potato fries - YUM! Friendly bartenders and good service.

I rushed in a while back right after they opened (I think it has been at least two years) and liked my meal but it was pretty spendy and I wasn't totally blown away. I'm a big fan of great food served in casual settings and when I finally returned recently Plum hits the perfect balance so I'm giving a full five stars. We had seats at the counter and got a great show as they carefully prepared all the dishes. Herbs torn and placed just so by yes, hip kitchen staff who look pretty cool doing it. I had house made ricotta in ravioli in a fresh tomato sauce, joined a little unexpectedly by little chunks of fried okra... and you know what? It totally works. Delicious. The chicken was great as well, I'm so glad chicken is getting treated well in restaurants again after so many years as a throw away dish. My dining companion and I sipped our way through most of their barrel aged cocktails (passed through a window by the bartenders at Plum Bar next door) and could not resist indulging in two desserts. It was an exciting meal so when the check came it felt worth every penny. Well done! Random notes: street parking was quite easy on an early Sunday evening and we saw many of the other restaurant guests at the concert at the Fox we were on our way to after.

Sweet flavors, but delicious and wonderfully composed. Barrel aged cocktails! Sit at the bar. Flirt with the staff.
