Sgt. Michael Incontrera contracted cancer from working at Ground Zero on 9-11 after the attack at the World Trade Center. He is yet another hero who had to suffer because of this evil.

Indiana State Police said the incident happened just after 7 p.m. in Jeffersonville, located across the river from Louisville, when Trooper Morgenn Evans stopped a truck driven by 79-year-old Oscar Kays. Kays became combative during the traffic stop, police said, eventually pulling a gun on Evans and then shooting him.

Even if no form of justice is pursued, it is part of a healing process. Maybe they feel relief. If some consequence for the suspect, even public scorn, comes from their disclosure- perhaps they feel vindicated.
But did I miss something in the ladies’ restroom? They are coming out in groups from all over the country. It is like a united front.

While the process will vary from one jurisdiction to another, and the requirements may be adjusted for different peace officer categories, there will be many similarities.
“Why does it take so long?” is one of the most frequent questions asked. Because people that are given the power possessed by cops need to be thoroughly vetted. And there is no simple way to accomplish these steps rapidly. At least not if the professional agency wants to ensure they have hired exceptionally well-qualified individuals.

I had a regular partner but when the captain asks you to train someone, you say, yes sir. He’d been very good to me and he was now short FTOs but not PPOs. So, I became an FTO. My PPOs ran the gamut from very good to not quite so good. Some I knew would make great coppers and with others, I worried. I worried about both the officers and the citizens. It wasn’t always for what you might imagine.

Mitchell Lynn Bacom, 63, has been held on charges in the murder and rape of Suzanne Bombardier. Bombardier was reported missing on the morning of June 21, 1980. She had been babysitting her nieces at the time of her disappearance.

Even as panicked commuters rushed toward them, four officers didn’t hesitate to engage the man accused of detonating an explosive in the New York City subway system. They have been credited with leaping on top of the suspect and removing the device before more damage could be done.

MY FAMILY BLEEDS BLUE
And my Family in Blue showed up in a big way. The love and support my family has received has been overwhelming.
The heartbreak and loss have also been overwhelming.
We are trusting in God as we figure out how to move forward with this big hole in our lives. And we know that our Family in Blue is walking right beside us all the way.

Earlier today an attempted suicide bomber who set off a rush-hour explosion at the nation’s busiest bus terminal was incompetent. Police said the man strapped a pipe bomb to his body with Velcro and zip ties, and it detonated in a subway corridor.
