Typhoon Haiyan had torn here home town of Balangiga to the ground. She had lost touch with her parents there. Western media and aid were being sent to Tacloban City, but the small towns surrounding were not a priority.

A few weeks ago, almost a year later, she got married (congratulations!), and used the opportunity to continue supporting the community:

"We created a ‪#‎digitalwedding‬ and turned our special day into a platform for a cause to help a community destroyed by super-typhoon Haiyan start again. A crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo just launched yesterday and we've asked our guests to contribute as their wedding gifts. We already have everything we need."
