We’ve just completed an order for some Oregon tongue & groove floor boards which have come up beautifully. After running the Kiln Dried timber through the moulding machine which has dressed and created the tongue and groove profile we have an end result of gorgeous timber with a beautiful grain. These floor boards will look stunning in the new home. 😍
Delivered Australia Wide 🚛

These large sections of timber were run through the band saw for a client where they were then dressed and delivered to Northern Queensland for a special architectural job. Hopefully we’ll have some photos soon.
These pieces of flitch (11.4mtrs) are ideal for the manufacture of sections of solid timber where the builder needs large solid sections of timber rather than laminated/finger jointed or plated timbers

Oregon is the perfect timber for use in heritage restoration work. This beautiful circa 1840’s home in Windsor, NSW has had some restoration work done on their posts by the talented Nick James at www.joinermaker.com.au located in Sydney.
Hand selected pieces of flitch are needed to ensure the timber has tight growth rings before being quarter sawn .

Flitches which the boys have unloaded from packs just delivered that have come in from Canada. These will be taken across the bandsaw where they will be cut to meet customer requirements. Depending on if the order is for Dressed timbers, once the size has been cut on the bandsaw the timber will then be forked across to the Foursider/Planer for Dressing.
The large flitch on the right , having a fairly course grain would be used for F7 orders ie: generally used for non-appearance jobs such as floor joists, lintels, concreters (perfect for formwork with the coarse grain) and roof trusses that are not going to be seen.
Lengths of up to 11.4 mtrs or cut to size.
