For those interested in our Acadian history: UNESCO has just designated Grand Pre, Nova Scotia, as a "world heritage site." Grand Pre was a center of Acadian life in the 1600s and 1700s and was the focal point of the tragic Acadian deportation by British authorities, beginning in 1755. Robyn and I have visited twice -- it's an inspiring, must-see location for anyone making a pilgrimage to the mother country of the Cajun people.
