I have always brought my car to meineke. They handle all of my car care needs from big to small.

My wife went by there today 1/17/2011 for an oil change on her Mercedez C230, and they told her it would be over $100, for an oil change! Their excuse, "it takes a special oil filter". BS. I've NEVER paid more than $65 to get the oil in her car changed, and they are obviously trying to take advantage of her because she's a woman. Thank God she's smart enough to know to call me before getting work done when she thinks she's being taken advantage of. I called them to let them know that i was livid that they would be so shady, and his response was only "that's your opinion". There are plenty of reputable service companies around Charlotte, especially Buffaloe Tire on S. Blvd, who by the way does her oil changes for $60, "special filter" and all. Stay away from this place, they are SHADY.

They advertise a very attractive price for Brake Pad Replacement which includes turning the rotors. Once they removed my pads, they told me that my rotors were too thin to turn and I would have to purchase new rotors along with the pads. This did not sound right because the rotors were in very good shape and were not warped in any way. So I declined the work and took the vehicle to a mechanic I have used for more than 15 yrs. Without any discussion of what I just went thru, my mechanic mentioned that I could just replace the pads without turning the rotor, but if I wanted to turn the rotors, there was enough material to turn it at least 2 more times. Needless to say, I will not be going back to Meineke. I saved more than $200 by avoiding Meineke.

I went there on August 2 b/c my engine light was on. After doing a "diagnostic", they told me a *code* came up for my MAF (Mass Air Flow sensor). He said they could clean it but that I'd probably have to end up replacing it some time down the road. I paid them $65 for 7 minutes and 19 seconds of work which consisted of spraying a can of CARBON CLEANER on my sensor. 4 days later, my engine light came on AGAIN! Took, it back exactly one week from the first visit on 8.2.10 and that's when they told me I needed a NEW SENSOR!!! what the hell!? I just paid them $65 to clean it, I should have been credited for the LIE that it just needed cleaning! *Larry*, the front desk guy said that the cheapest sensor he could find was $325 and would only charge me $60 to put it on! ($400 total) You're going to charge me!? How much grey goose did you consume before getting out of bed moron!!! Went to autozone and purchased a brand new sensor for $177.00!!!! Sat right there in the parking lot and changed the freakin' thing myself and I AM A WOMAN!!! I was not about to be "raped" by a money hungry mechanic because of the fact that I AM A FEMALE and he didn't think I knew any better. They lost a very good customer, not going back there again!!! Save your money and do it yourself or go to a more reputible mechanic who's looking out for your best interest AND your pocketbook! I've been laid off for over a year and a half and he was more than aware of that! MEINEKE on Independence is a RIPOFF!!!!

Very professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. Explanation of what was being done to my vehicle helped my confidence in the staff. They had plenty of experience doing the job. Worth the time it took to finish the job.
